Netflix Under Chrome Engine

Post by mama_cass » Sat Oct 25, 2014 11:52 pm

Does anyone else have the following error (Note that I am using a Lenovo X1 Carbon, Avant 2015 v5 and that Netflix works under the Chrome browser) and have they yet found a work around or is this a bug? I do know that some time ago I was able to play Netflix under Avant using Chrome but can't recall the version at which it stopped working. If I switch to Firefox btw, it works. Thoughts welcome:

Whoops, something went wrong...
Netflix Video Player Unavailable

Our apologies - we cannot find the right components to play Netflix on your Chromebook.

Please ensure you are not in a Guest Session or in an Incognito tab.

Also, in chrome://plugins please ensure that both the "Netflix" and the "Widevine Content Decryption Module" plug-ins are enabled and their "Always allowed" setting is checked.

If this problem persists, please clear all Netflix cookies and site data by navigating to chrome://settings/cookies, typing "netflix" in the search box and clicking "Remove all".

If all else fails, please update your Chromebook from the "About Chrome OS" menu.

Error Code: M7355-1203

Verified. I'm getting the exact same error.

edit: To be clear, it's only the video playback that causes the error. I can browse Netflix just fine

Thanks for your confirmation. This site is not available in my country, I just tried it with a proxy but still have problem to register a free account.
Is it possible to register a test account for us?

A credit card is required to sign up, unfortunately, and the number of streams allowed per account is limited. I'd offer mine, but the stream limitation would mess things up.

Yeah, Netflix and proxys are not always so easy... I live in Denmark sometimes, and here nearly nothing is online on Netflix, so I have to use Chrome for this with Hola plugin...
