Rendering Engine Rules: syntax guide and string case

Post by schar07 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 11:07 am

Hi,

1. creating engine rules sometimes doesn't work and donno why: reading posts here gave some hints but is there a description of the syntax to use that i can go through please?
2. is the rule letter case sensitive or not? I wrote 'http://www-tools.XXXXX.com/AbcDef/*', it got saved as 'http://www-tools.XXXXX.com/abcdef/*'' and did not work, so i changed it to ''http://www-tools.XXXXX.com/*'' and it worked.

Thank you,
Schar

1) I don't think there's a single place where you can find everything, although I've had most of my specific questions answered here. The only thing I can think of that isn't too intuitive is that you don't want your string to end with a "/"... unless something has changed. In your three examples in Question 2, I don't think any would work the way you want because of the string ending on a dash. I was told to instead input http://www-tools.XXXXX.com/AbcDef* (For the first time in a long time, Avant froze on me yesterday and the only thing my backup didn't seem to recover was my rendering engine list. So, I'm sorry I can't be a little more definitive.)

2) We're on month 9 of the rendering engine not properly saving capitalization: See here

Thank you for your reply,

1) yes, i noticed a final '/' is badly received, so far however ending with '/*' has been working fine
2) thx, i added myself to that thread (i was searching for Rendering Engine rules, not list, and didn't catch the thread ;-))

As you can see, it had been recorded but didn't be improved. I'll report it again.
