How can I have Windows Media Player run in a Tab?

Post by Eli S » Mon Oct 17, 2011 2:44 pm

I installed the Windows Media Player plugin for Firefox.

I can now have Windows Media Player play video inside a Tab within Firefox 6.0.2 (and Chrome too!).

When I run Avant 2012 Beta 8 in Firefox rendering mode, I notice that the plugin that I installed for Firefox 6.0.2 does not manifest itself in Avant, and so I cannot have Windows media player play inside a Tab within Avant 2012 Beta 8.

Is there a way to install Windows Media Player plugin for Avant 2012 Beta 8 in Mozilla Firefox rendering mode?

By the way, I did go to Tools>Mozilla firefox >Add-ons>Plug-ins, to see whether the Windows Media Player plugin is enabled. But it isn't even there!

It works if you copy npdsplay.dll file into C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Extensions ?

I can't seem to be able to locate npdsplay.dll on my laptop.
However, when I google it, I see it is downloadable from several sites.
I am not sure which site is best and safest. Since the file needs to go into a specific location, which is:
C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Extensions
an auto-install may place it somewhere else.
What do you recommend as the best approach. Thanks so very much for your assistance.
