Been using Sygate for maybe a year, mostly ok. An occasional problem here and there, mostly seems to not really be disabled when you need it to for some new program installations. After reading all these review, think I'll look into Kerio

Hmm... I've been using Sygate Pro for almost 2 years, Weezle, and I haven't had any experiences like what you're describing here. You may need to check your preferences in Sygate to see if something you have set up is causing this.

Well I to was please and guess I still am with Sygate Pro but the one and only time I ever had problems upgrading AB to a new version was because of Sygate. No matter what I did the new version of AB would not work yet IE and mozzila still did. I tried several things including disabling, the firewall both before installing AB, keeping it disabled, giving AB the right to go out and various other combinations. Finally after completely uninstalling Sygate, installing the new AB and then reinstalling Sygate it finally worked. That was about my only complaint and that was maybe a year ago or so.
