Small, but maybe very useful:

In Avant and Orca we can use right mouse button + middle mouse button shortcut to close current tab, it's very useful, but there was no such refresh option, only useless (for me) option to go back/forward with left/right mouse button. But I see now, that if you disable Mouse Gestures, also this option is disabled, so...

...Now it is possible to set mouse shortcut right button + left button to refresh current page / tab (also anywhere on the page) for Avant and Orca in HotkeyP.

This is very useful for me, so maybe also for you. Of course, you can use also other mouse / keyboard shortcuts for other Orca / Avant features.

Another good news - comming soon to HotkeyP - Gamepad support!

HotkeyP 4.2 has been released.

- new commands:

"Macro to active window"
"Desktop snapshot"
"Window snapshot"
"Hide icon"
"Start service"
"Stop service"
"Disable joystick shortcuts"
"Disable remote control"
"Disable keyboard shortcuts"

- joystick/gamepad
- checkbox "Ask before executing this hotkey"
- command "Macro": added escape sequences for letters and digits (\A, \Aup, \Adown, \B, \0, \1, ...)
- boolean operators &,|,! in the second parameter of commands "Macro/Keys/Command to active window"

fixed bugs:
- a current item was not visible after sorting
- items could not be moved if the sort order was descending
- a connection to WinLIRC sometimes failed
- the Start menu appeared after hotkeys Win+something
- although remote control shortcuts cannot be combined with shifts, it was possible to check the shift checkboxes
- Ctrl+ScrollLock could not be set as a hotkey

the following two bugs were fixed only for the case when the option "Use keyboard hook for all hotkeys" is checked:
- keys "Enter" and "Num Enter" were not distinguished
- the message keyup was sent after a keyboard shortcut and therefore some function in an active window could be executed in addition to the hotkey

HotkeyP is a GREAT program!!

Question: Is there a single place to see ALL the release notes for ALL the versions? (I like to read those sorts of things in chronological order. I'm a programmer and like to understand the development process / progression of a program I like.)

To everybody: Here are just some of the benefits of HotkeyP:

1) No installer. Just unzip it and run it.
2) Many, many features, options, and settings
3) Built-in help
4) Small app, runs very fast
5) The author obviously cares about writing great software and improves HotkeyP regularly.

With HotkeyP, I was able to make Windows Media Player pause/play when I hit the spacebar, which has been a pet peeve for YEARS. Every media player I ever used on the Mac, for 20 years, has used the spacebar in that way, and nearly every one on the PC has too. But in WMP it was Control-P. Try hitting that fast with one finger (or fist or elbow) when the phone rings or your wife yells form the other room (esp. if the keyboard is in a keyboard drawer that's pushed "in")!

There's a tremendous amount of power in this tiny, free program, with no bloat or crap. With a little thought, you can remake your PC to be more useful and triumph over many pet peeves. I'm going to change keyboard shortcuts for many programs (incl. Avant Browser) next.

Great work!

(Dreamer: if you are the author, kudos! But if you are NOT the author, where do you get these release notes?)

Question: How to REMOVE a hotkey from a program?

Avant Browser uses F12 and Ctrl-Shift-L for certain things, but I need ONE of those two keystrokes to NOT be assigned so that a very useful 3rd-party JavaScript (Firebug Lite) can intercept that keystroke and do its thing.

Is there a way, using HotkeyP (or a different way) to STOP Avant from grabbing both F12 and Ctrl-Shift-L?

Thanks for any response!

No, I'm not the author, but I have suggested many features in HotkeyP. ;) I'm also testing the program. The author is Petr Lastovicka from Czech Republic.

When you assign a new option for the old shortcut, HotkeyP automatically replace the old shortcut. You can remove a hotkey (e.g. F12) like this:

Hotkey: F12

Command: Macro to active window

Parameters: 0 avant.exe

...but I'm not sure if it will be working, since HotkeyP may have a higher priority than the other program (Firebug Lite).

BTW - New version of HotkeyP will be released soon!

The Help is in the program menu. There is even a forum - here, but it's not very active.

Create the separate commands and then one "Multi command" and Parameters with the numbers of those commands. But I think you can't do this without a "Delay" command. Perhaps you can try the "Commands list", but then you'd have to press the same shortcut several times to process all the commands.

HotkeyP 4.6 has been released.

new:
- command "Desktop resolution" has optional parameter monitor number
- command "Control panel" without parameters opens the control panels folder
- command "Macro" can have parameters \media_select, \launch_app1, \launch_app2
- option to use hook only for special system shortcuts (e.g. Win+E, Win+D, Ctrl+Esc, Alt+Tab, ...)

fixed bugs:
- multimedia keys on some keyboards did not work (e.g. Genius USB keyboards)
- shift sometimes remained pressed after the macro
- if launched application required admin. rights, its exe file name was passed as the first parameter
