I use that one a *lot*. It is primary for network admins I guess.
Just a note, this URL is to become depracated in the near future. The new URL for MSKBA's is;

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=%s

***************************************************

All newsgroups

Alias: NG
Shortcut: http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?q= ... 5&safe=off&

Example usage

NG microsoft.public.* iexplore.exe

This will allow you to search all newsgroups.

MSN beta for music........

Alias: bsmsn
Shortcut: http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx ... &FORM=QBRE

Example usage:

bmsn "zz top"

or

bmsn eddie cochran

Doesn't work on the "official" MSN search though (not sure why)

Scroogle away folks;

Alias: scroogle
Shortcut: http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/nbbw.cgi?Gw=%s

Now you've got Google without all of the crud that comes with it :wink:

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with the ?intitle etc searches, but it's great for the majority of them.

using Grokker

If you want to use the Grokker visual search page, which creates a "map" of relevant search items based on a Yahoo search the line

http://www.grokker.com/applet.html?query=%s

in your Avant options search section will do it

[Tip] Searching Torrent Files with Avant Browser!

I added the official BitTorrent search engine to the "Quick Search" list in Avant. Here's how I did it.

1. Go to "Tools" --> "Avant Browser options" --> "Search Engine"
2. Click on "Add"
3. Type in "bt" (or whatever you like) as the shortcut, and type in http://search.bittorrent.com/search.jsp ... it2=Search as the URL.
4. Click "OK"

You are done! Now type "bt" followed by a space and the name of the movie or music you want to download in the address bar and hit enter. You will see a list of torrent files matching your keywords.

I don't know how many people know this, but URL aliases & quick search strings don't have to be unique.

For example, I have 'imdb' take me to the imdb home page and also search imdb if I place text to search for after 'imdb'.

I found this out by chance, although, I must have been using it for a while as when I checked "Search engine" & "URL Alias' I had an entry in each for 'imdb'

??? :eh:

How can I find the string for a search? Like say for youtube and demonoid? Is there an addon that will let you right click a search form and find it, kind of like in Opera?
