Saying adieu

Well, I've been considering this for awhile and I think it's about time I "officially" announced it. I'm going to be taking an extended, maybe permanent, leave of absence from this forum... what's become my digital home away from home.

For those of you that don't know, I run a small business, have a family with great kids that I don't see enough of already, and (to get ahead of any upcoming midlife crises) have recently started going back to school. Between all of that and then having business and personal projects to work on, my daylight hours are running much shorter than they used to. So, while there are other things I'd like to cut out (work, for instance ;)), I've pretty much had to choose the thing that already has plenty of other capable hands to take care of it.

Admittedly, I do have some ego, though... I'd had this decision made for a while, but then some internal issues kept me around a bit longer and, more importantly, I wanted to break that 10,000 post mark. (<- This is it! ) I've tried not to post silly, pointless posts during my time on here, and with so few little achievements in my life, I wanted a little something to smile back on...

So, I do plant to check in from time to time, but I wanted those that PM or e-mail me to know what's going on when they don't get a response back as quickly as before... or at all, for that matter. Also, during breaks and slow periods in my life, I'll try to be as active on here as I've been up until this point... because I really do love this place. Like I said before, we now have a great staff here so I honestly don't think anyone will notice a difference. I've never felt like I was "needed" here anyway as everyone is so terrific.

So, as I hear my son sneaking down the stairs this morning to get some breakfast, I'll say, "Goodbye! Have fun and... search before you bloody post! :D"

Another Avant Guard joins the force.
Just remember horni, that although you might not be on as often the fact that you plan to check in every once-in-a-while means that we will not be totally deprived of you.

Denny,

I've rarely seen anyone contribute to any forum with the speed and tack as you have shown. Hope this doesn't bloat up that ego of yours again! :P

Best wishes to you and your family!

Of course we will notice a difference with you not around very often, Denny. You underestimate how much forum members appreciate your help and feedback around here. I really appreciate how many times you answered my questions, promptly, and when no one else was sure exactly what I was trying to ask. You were discreet and polite when my posts didn't follow the proper format or protocol for Avant Forum. You always sent me a PM explaining my faux pas and let me edit my post, or moved it to the proper thread for me, so I didn't totally embarass myself worse than I already had.

Good luck to you and yours with all of your new endeavors. Please visit soon, and often.
