!!! Rules for Avant Browser forum (Read First!) !!!

The forum is a tool for everyone to get their requests and other qualms across to Anderson and for Anderson to get a pulse on the Avant community. It's also a great way to exchange ideas with other Avant users. As such, we just have a few rules that need to be followed to keep things in order.

GENERAL FORUM COMMANDMENT - No posting of spam, adult material, cracks or serial sites. Doing so will cause deletion of same and banishment of the Poster. Remember: If you think something might be against the rules, it probably is!

Our Forum Rules

1. Be polite to your fellow Avant users. This is a family oriented forum and any language which may be found offensive will not be tolerated. Any foul language or abusive posts will result in immediate deletion of the offending post and a warning to the poster. Repeated usage will result in a lifetime ban for the poster.
2. Treat the staff and Anderson with respect. The members of the staff are donating their time, and as such, often have other things to do. No one is paid to be here. If we do not reply to your post immediately or just don't have the answer, don't go ballistic, just be patient.
3. Make sure to search the forum for things you want to post about. If they have already been posted and you start a new post on them, the new post will likely be locked or deleted. Many times, you might find the answer to your questions by reading our F.A.Q. forum or looking in our Master Request/Suggestion List.
4. Post different requests, questions, or bugs in separate threads.
5. Post on topic. Do not post requests in the Bugs forum or current events in the Help forum. This will help everyone find what they are looking for.
6. Use descriptive titles to allow people browsing the forum to easily find what they are looking for. "Problem with Adding Favorites" is much better than "A few problems..."
7. Also, be descriptive when reporting a bug. Explain the issue completely and include important information. i.e. Avant Version, OS, IE version, other running programs, etc. (or refer to the information in your accurate, up-to-date profile). This will help others determine the cause of and possibly duplicate your problem. Don't be shocked if you don't get many responses to your issue without this information!
8. About Your Profile
   • Keep all the items in your profile up-to-date. If you update to a different version of Avant, Windows, or IE, or you switch to a different default rendering engine or skin, update your profile promptly to reflect these changes.
   • Avatars must NOT be larger than 100x100.
   • Signatures must not be larger than 468 pixels wide by 150 pixels high
   • Images cannot exceed 20KB in file size and cannot contain large animations.
   • Text in signatures should be between 9 (small) and 12 (normal) and is subject to the same rules and conditions as posts. e.g. respect decency, emoticons, no warez links etc.
9. Posting screenshots
   If you have less than 2 posts here on the forum, you'll need an outside host to post a screenshot. The following rules apply:
   • Screen Captures should have a max width of 800 (To cut down on side scroll)
   • Keep screen capture file sizes under 300K (a lot of users still use modems, TomServo included.. don't make him mad! )
   • We reserve the right to resize, link to, or delete your image if it isn't within the specified sizes
   • If it NEEDS to be a large image, LINK to it instead.
   If you have 2 or more posts, you will see an Upload Picture button when posting. This is only to be used for posting screenshots unless a staff member has noted otherwise. If you can't meet the following requirements to upload, you must use a different host.
   • Images must be under 512KB.
   • Format must be (in order of preference) jpg, jpeg, png, or gif.
   • Pictures should not be hotlinked outside of this domain
10. We reserves the right to change or alter these rules at any time and an Administrator's word is final.

While posts breaking these rules might be deleted on the spot, we'll generally try to move, split, or merge items as needed. If you have any questions concerning these rules or feel a post might be in violation, always feel free to send a private message to an Administrator, Mod, or Support Staff member for further answers.
