| Orca installer closes working Avant (fix completed) |
|---|
|
Orca installer detects active Avant as Orca instance and 'must' close it before continuing installation.

The running Avant version was 11.7 alpha 2, so I'm guessing the problem is in the fact that both Orca and Avant share the same name 'browser.exe' in this version.
So Orca installer detected 'browser.exe' active in memory and assumed it was an Orca instance whereas it was new Avant build of the same filename. Anderson is trying to figure out the best way of fixing this problem. Its was not fixed in Alpha 2a.
Ok.
Just to confirm that the problem is still present in the 2a release. Not fixed in Alpha 3 either.
I assume it's detecting Avant as Orca because they're both browser.exe. I think the best solution would be to compair the path of browser.exe to the path it's being copied to.
Pretty simple solution. Installer should be able to do that.
Actually, I'm wrong. I jsut installed latest Orca, and it's no longer named "browser.exe". Maybe he forgot to change something in the installer?
Fixed, Orca a4 doesn't close Avant a4. Thanks!
