Re: Is Avant 64-bit compatible?

It works perfectly fine with Windows Vista and 7 64 bit. It doesn't, however, run as a 64 bit application. It is still a 32 bit application.

Re: national geographic

You extract the file in the zip and double click it. It can't be any easier. If you don't want to try a proposed solution, that's your prerogative but you then can't expect anything to ever be fixed.

Re: Build 46 and Gmail

We can't automatically know exactly what the problem is and exactly how to fix it. We need to do some, usually basic, troubleshooting. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. Also, stop posting new topics for ones that already exists. Especially for ones that YOU started. Edit: I just wanted to sa...

Re: Erratic Print Preview (usually fails for multiple pages)

Is this what you are seeing? I get this exact same thing using Internet Explorer 8 itself so I don't think it's an Avant thing. Firefox looks fine, however.

Re: Loop in print / print preview

Print preview. It didn't crash actually printing. I tried a few other pages on the website. Only an individual product page crashed Avant. The number of pages kept increasing. Avant Crash - Individual product page crashes. Avant Crash 2 - VW and Toyota pages don't crash but Toyota's page continues t...

Re: just one or two request

Here's one that will open Avant if it is in the default location (C:\Program Files\Avant Browser\avant.exe). If it is different, here is the code that you can edit yourself and use with the program called Auto Hot Key . #NoEnv SendMode Input SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% SetTitleMatchMode 2 ;---------...

Re: Problem openning site

Avant uses the Trident engine which is the one used in IE. Orca uses the Gecko engine which is the one used in Firefox.

Re: Problem openning site

For the first problem, it's a problem with the site. It's using extremely old unstandardized javascript which isn't supported in Gecko (the rendering engine used by Orca).

Re: just one or two request

Here's a tiny program that remaps Alt-F4 in Avant to Ctrl-F4 unless there are not windows open. Then it is the default Alt-F4 which will close Avant. It's certainly not ideal and would have to always be running but it's a work around until keyboard shortcuts can be changed.

Make sure that avant.exe is set to decimal 8000, not hexadecimal.

I saw that the other day. It's a good day for web developers.

Doesn't YouTube warn you if you're using IE 6 as well?

It was a new feature in Firefox 3.5 that "allows you to browse the Internet without Firefox saving any data about which sites and pages you have visited."
