Re: Avant AD Blocker and youtube videos

Correction: I was just searching YouTube and a few videos did not have the "Download Video(s)" box but I just viewed one that had the download box appear. Is this maybe a file type issue? Thanks!

Re: Avant AD Blocker and youtube videos

Thanks for the fix bigC! Do you happen to know why the Video Download doesn't work on YouTube as well? :?: There used to be a drop-down box that would appear with the option to save the video. It no longer shows since YouTube did their "upgrade". I noted that Crazy_John also has a similar problem. T...

Re: Avant AD Blocker and youtube videos

I have the same problem! #-o Videos work fine on IE and Safari, but not on Avant regardless of rendering engine selection. If I turn off AD Blocker the videos load and play. Turn AD Blocker back on and I just get a black box. Any solution other than having to turn off AD Blocker each time I use YouT...

Re: Suggestion: Tell everyone to use v. 11.7 b46 until bugs

darth is correct that is what i used but i am useing firefox til a really stable version of avant is released :) I agree! I am keeping informed on the progress (and bugs) of the "2010" release, and am using Ver. 11.7, build 46 for now. So, until a truly "stable" release is available, I'll stick wit...

It should also be noted that Avant users should always update their OS (operating system) from the Microsoft Update site to ensure any security fixes that pertain to Internet Explorer are installed . Installing the other updates can't hurt either! Just an F.Y.I. for you to consider. :D

Update: This Problem (Bug?) still happens (about 1x per day). Today when it happened I checked the "File - Open Recent" listings and found the following odd entry: block://block.html/ Is this entry coming from within Avant or from a web site I'm visiting? Please research this and let me know. Thanks!

I've experienced the same problem. Happens randomly for me also. Not sure what's causing it. It's a nuisance, but at least the browser doesn't close completely.

It's displayed that the new version is available on startup. (At least to me.) It sometimes will notify me that way, but I usually find out by doing a manual "Check for New Version". I have the option checked in the Miscellaneous settings to "Notify me when there is a new version available" but it ...

Sense of Humor gratefully rec'd. Thanks Drahken! No problem; I thought it was probably in jest, but in case in wasn't, thought it needed addressing. (Just in case any "little ones" might be reading these posts  ).

2) Acronym: Association of Voluntary Agencies on Narcotics Treatment Following this definition, orca could be dubbed "Detox" or "dude! Where's my pot?!" :?: :?:  WHAT?? :?: :?: I don't think an association of drugs to a browser is a logical choice at all. As for the naming of ...

Mystery of Dr. Orca Solved!

Eureka! I've deciphered the mystery! Using my trusty WordWeb dictionary/thesaurus I have found the following definitions: Doctor [Verb:] 3. Restore by replacing a part or putting together what is torn or broken. Orca [Noun:] Predatory black-and-white toothed whale with large dorsal fin. [Synonym:] ...

Thanks for the reply vtel57, but I have a question: I knew the above option was there, but will doing the above delete ALL my cookies? I prefer to leave some enabled and only delete those I don't want. Is there a way to do that within Dr. Orca? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Cookie Manager....where is it located?

Hello! First off, let me say that I am enjoying this latest release of Dr. Orca alot! The download feature is really neat and the browser seems to be "Super Fast" in loading pages. Just one question: I'm wondering where I can find the "Cookie Manager" as mentioned in the cookies.txt file [exact text...

No; if you're experiencing system-wide crashes in XP I'd be concerned about either virus infection or a hardware problem such as overheating. I meant simple Avant crashing. Not hanging or anything, simply shutting down instantaneously. It happened again. Is it just me? Oh, OK Sergei, thanks for the...

By "sudden spontaneous shutdowns" do you mean your system shutting down and re-booting? If so, then Yes, I've experienced that problem. Except mine will occur sometimes even if I'm not surfing the Web. Could this be related to the Browser? The only info I can get from my Event Viewer is that my "sys...

Same for me also! I thought I'd peruse the "Temporary Internet Files" folder to try and locate the images, but quess what? They aren't there! I'm not too familiar with the "Firefox / Gecko" browsers, but I see they behave like Netscape. Through some searching I was able to locate where Dr. Orca puts...
