Re: Avant Browser 11.5 Public Beta 4 with Change log

These "silent updates" should be called Beta's... Beta 4, 4a, 4b, etc. so we know what we are seeing. I agree, the silent updates will cause confusion amoungst the users. A user may be having a problem that is fixed in a silent update and the support group will not understand why he's having a prob...

There you can specify which COOKIES to ACCEPT/BLOCK and also whether to ACCEPT/BLOCK all THIRD PARTY cookies.

In 11.5 PB 4, RSS update doesn't work correctly. If I RIGHT CLICK on a RSS Bookmark, a new page opens, but it is blank and never updates the feeds. I know there are new feed items, because I logged in at the forum and then checked with another feed reader, but the AVANT feed hasn't been updated and ...

Re: New version of Avant not working....

Must agree Zone Alarm FW excellent, only reason i changed to Sunbelt Kerio was because i can specify exact ports on eMule . Blocking and unblocking ports ZoneAlarm security software's default security levels determine which ports and protocols are allowed and which are blocked. If you are an advanc...

You might try giving Avant access to the internet through your firewall. Some firewalls require each version of a program be approved.

1. He means that he wants to be able to switch the colors of the text in the RSS Feed output page to the colors he chooses for read or unread items. 2. He is complaining about the list not sorting correctly, which I have already posted. 3. He wants a feature that when he opens the BOOKMARKS, RSS FEE...

I don't see anyway to 'backup' selected items, such as RSS Feeds, Bookmarks, Cookies, etc... through the browser. Also, there's no way to import those items into a fresh install even if they could be backed up. Some users aren't willing to expose their personal info with online storage in order to b...

Re: Active Content Warning on Local HTML Home Page

With that option turned off and SP2 installed, you should have had that problem with all local pages... I don't understand why you haven't had it... I don't know why either, but the warning didn't show up on my PCs until this last series of 11.5 betas. As soon as I downloaded and installed the firs...

Re: Active Content Warning on Local HTML Home Page

It seems to me the old "mark of the web" issue after XP Service Pack 2: you can read some old documentation here http://www.phdcc.com/xpsp2.htm http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2brows.mspx to understand the issue; the simplest "fix" anyway is to allow active content ...

Re: Annoyance with local file as home page

When using a local html file as home page I get the Internet Explorer Information Bar all the time. After clicking to allow blocked content it doesn't appear in Internet Explorer 7 anymore, but always comes up with this Avant 11.5b4. http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/2548/localfiledn0.gif (btw, th...

IMO - It's better because the Menu Bar is in the location that everyone expects it to be in, instead of the opposite corner of the screen. Same could be said for the title bar ... An option to rearrange everything where you want like in non-compact mode would be ideal. and the rest of my post... Us...

IMO - It's better because the Menu Bar is in the location that everyone expects it to be in, instead of the opposite corner of the screen. Usually the items a user needs to click are grouped together in the left most portion for easy access.

RSS Date Sorting Confusion...

I'm using "MM/dd/yyyy" and there is a sorting problem on my machine. AVANT places the months and days in correct order, but disregards the years. I've reset my date settings and restarted my PC and rechecked my settings, but when it comes to items listed in 2007 and 2006, AVANT simply sorts by the ...

KY Dave, we went through that exercise already once. I've addressed this before in another topic, but do you think it's because of AVANT not reading the date field correctly? That's why I wrote the above statement, but still AVANT doesn't show the items in the correct order. I'm using "MM/dd/yyyy" ...

Re: Avant Browser 11.5 Public Beta 3

The system buttons are back, but they are still wedded to the tabs bar. I want to be able to move them back to where they were in the menu bar. I agree, this has caused me to use the SHOW WINDOWS TABS ON TOP option, so I don't have to go to the bottom of the screen each time I close a window. If I ...
