Re: Optimizing Firefox (gecko) Engine

And there's no way to delete a key in Firefox that I can find..... :( Find Prefs.js file in your Profile folder (profiles\.default\gecko\Mozilla\Avant\Profiles\xxxxxxxxx.default) Right click -> Edit Find the line containing variable you want to remove, in this case you probably want this line: user...

Re: Optimizing Firefox (gecko) Engine

Thanks for replies :) One mistake in main post. All js variables are case sensitive so Network.http.max-connections-per-server is not same as network.http.max-connections-per-server. Use only lowercase letters. I am still testing the results of these tweaks when i have time, since all tweaks were ta...

Re: Optimizing Firefox (gecko) Engine

Thanks very much, Climhazard!  I was aware of some of these, but not all of them, and I'd been planning to create my own list so that I wouldn't have to go looking for them every time they need to be redone. This is very helpful. There is one you might add that sulpherdragon posted ...

Re: AvB 2013v21 - spyware rel? No respect for the users!

I agree. I dont know why would they change Search engines when it was perfect. There are also other changes like ruined split view, slowed down context menu, random purple screen crash etc. But since these are early builds of new release, we should give it some time. Also the fact that there is only...

Re: Avant browser use too much memory

No browser can use more memory than Chrome unless its alpha or beta version with some memory leaks. mbrazil is right, in your screenshots we can only see total memory usage for all processes, and i see you also have GData AV which is very heavy on memory. Try to do same test, same tabs opened in chr...

Re: Firefox Downloads force-closing

I wasn't been able to recreate the bug, it appears to be specific bug. However i was able to confirm and recreate the purple background "Something went wrong, double-click the background to refresh...". This is one case it always appears: 1. Start any download with firefox downloader. 2. Completely ...

Firefox Downloads force-closing

I noticed a new bug in 2013 build 21, while Firefox downloader is downloading (or not downloading), it is forcibly closed when you exit the browser completely, thus breaking all your downloads. This isn't present in 2012 build 197.

Re: Let's have a poll

I was getting some slowdowns and page rendering errors (famous purple "something went wrong double click the background to refresh page.." which seems to appear when disk or mem usage is high so firefox cant start itself and timesout or something which i noticed from my testing), also avant processe...

Re: Let's have a poll

Still using old interface. Currently new skin is unusable for me. I think new skin will be great as soon as there are more customizations and the developer use more his imagination and listen to user suggestions to make something that looks new but keeps usability and accessibility and less just imi...

Re: A few suggestions

4. Add option to move buttons from the right of search box (home, history, autofils, bookmarks buttons) to the left of address box. This will be added in next version. This feature still hasn't been fully implemented. I can now drag (history, autofills, bookmarks) bar only to the right of address b...

Re: middle mouse problem

It surely would have its built in spell check working in avant.

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to enable middle mouse click on avant toolbar items like bookmarks and buttons like in FF? Or the browser doesnt support it?

Re: Avant 2013 & Chrome

This should really be on the top priority list. Most of the extensions on chrome depend on the toolbar button (for example NotScripts), which makes using chrome with Avant difficult or maybe even unusable for some users. Adblock for chrome has its context menu so its ok, but for other addons the onl...

Re: A few suggestions

Which skin are you using? I tried to reproduce the delay you described, but there doesn't appear to be any delay at all. This might be related to the skin that you're using, or it could have something to do with Win 7 x64 vs. XP x86. I did notice that when you have one folder open in the Bookmarks ...

Re: A few suggestions

If you close 2 tabs at the same time, click undo button will reopen the two tabs. I meant if we close them 1 by 1, clicking undo (or doing mouse gesture) will only open most recent one in list then it will disable itself, limiting us not to be able to use it again to get one more tab back with it. ...

A few suggestions

Hello avant devs and users. Avant Browser is very good and i have used it for some time already as my main browser. New version 2013 is better than 2012 in my opinion, i just have some suggestions (probably already suggested by some users) which could make it even better :) 1. Make Undo Close (shift...
