Well, the point of the invite system is so that they never run into a position where they have more people signing up than they can handle. They can control how many people can sign up.

But, google has TONS of servers to spare.

Re: GmailDrive

There is a program called GMailDrive that let you make kinda backup drive on your computer and host it on your Google account Interesting..........anyone going to try it? Sara :) I use it. It's sort of neat, but it has a file size limit of 10MB due to GMail's attachment limit. Here's some screensho...

Edit: I'm not impressed. Don't like the idea of paying for a browser, either.

Mac OS X kind of gives you both flavors. You have this awesome, easy-to-use system that will save you time, but you can still tinker with it and do some cool stuff manually since it is based on FreeBSD (unix).

That is definately not normal. Maybe you have something scheduled to run while you are at the office (Anti-virus scan, for example)? If it's only when you're connected to the network, there might be something wrong with the network. In that case, I'd ask your IT guy.. if you have one.

If IE7 removes integration with other apps, then Avant might have to switch to another engine.. perhaps Gecko? This could, as said above, also help it be ported to other platforms. Hmm.. Avant for OS X. We can only dream! :)

Also I remember hearing that the next apple os will be based 'integrating' Linux core so many of there software titles will probably run on Linux in the future and even if Microsoft closes the door on Linix greate titles will emerge and fill the void. If things go well I might not need Windows at a...

Heh, my grandma just got a trojan horse on her dial-up (Yes, dial-up) AOL-connected computer.. It sent 700 emails from her account and cause AOL to shut her account down.

Just gave her a disc with AVG 7 Free Edition on it. Hopefully they will update it once and a while..

I've used Fedora (Core 2 x86) and it is pretty nice, but Linux is too much to foll with for me at this time. There are a lot of simple things that take a long time to figure out in Linux. If you want to just try linux out, then get a live CD distribution. The most notable of these is Knoppix . There...

If you're a smart internet browser by being aware of what to install and not install from websites, coupled with adequate anti-malware utilities, your computer will be safe. You can get malware via Firefox, it just makes it slightly more difficult to happen -- mostly with "Are you sure?" prompts, wh...
