Re: Latest Avant installation complaint

I just got an automatic installation of Avant (2/29/16). The same set of problems I described in my original post appeared again.

Note I am now running Avant on 2 computers. This installation was on the second computer. It differs from the first in that it has IE11, not IE9.

mouse middle button

I have checked the option that, when opening a link using the middle button on the mouse, the tab will open in the foreground. Frequently it opens as background. This problem is recent - could it be Avant 2016 build 2?

history dating

The browser keeps track of web sites that I visited. When I look at the list (sorted by date), I find that at this time (approx. 9:30 PM Jan 1,2016) the current visit is listed as being on Sat., Jan. 2. Does this mean the history record is on Universal time, not my time (Eastern Std. - USA)?

Latest Avant installation complaint

The latest version of Avant was automatically installed. In the process several settings were changed - unwanted changes, and it took me a while to straighten out. 1) Default rendering: It gave me Chrome. I had Firefox. 2) Skins: It gave me above the line. I had below the line. 3) Middle mouse: New ...

Re: runtime error in 2015b17

I was about to report a bug - it turns out that it is the one being discussed here. Since it is a minor nuisance (version 17 - no freeze, just message), what is the safest course of action - ignore it or try the suggestions here?

Re: Firefox rendering engine

Quirk. The problem came back. I checked the hardware acceleration - it was on. I had recently updated Firefox, so it may have been turned back on again. Could a restart turn it on again? It is off now.

Re: Firefox rendering engine

I disabled hardware acceleration. So far so good. Since the problem had been intermittent, it will take a while before I'm sure.

Thanks.

Re: Firefox rendering engine

Further update. The option did not work. Adobe flash crash just seems to be an intermittent thing.

Re: Firefox rendering engine

The Firefox(es) addons I have read differently. There was an option in my (stand alone) Firefox called "Adobe Flash Protected Mode", which I turned off. In Avant-Firefox there was no such option . However when I turned it off, both Firefoxes worked properly. I am confused as to the connection betwee...

Re: Firefox rendering engine

Two versions (similar - dated 5/17/15) 17 ActiveX, 17NPAPI, both version 17.0.0.188.

When I called for repair, I got an error message (in each case). If I uninstall, I wouldn't know how to install.

Re: Firefox rendering engine

Further information. I have a stand alone version of Firefox. When I tried the page there it loaded, but it crashed part way through, with a message Adobe Flash player had crashed. At other times I have gotten similar messages when using Avant-Firefox. If that is the problem how do I repair Adobe Fl...

Firefox rendering engine

I encountered a web page which could not be opened using Firefox rendering, although it opened properly using the other three engines. The page is:

http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1VRyQX/e7 ... PIRE17.swf

Using Firefox I just got a blank page.

Re: CHANGE BROWSER DESIGN FUTURE

It is not completely clear to me what you are looking for. I am using the current version of AB with Firefox as the default engine. I also have AeroGlass as my skin (any below the line will do - only difference is colors).

Re: Firefox rendering problem

I saw on this site http://whatis.techtarget.com/fileformat/MHT-MHTML-document-Microsoft you need an add-on to open .mht files in firefox. Maybe you can check if you use an add-on like "Mozilla Archive Format" in Firefox. If so, you need to install that in the Avant Firefox too. add-on is here: http...

For future reference, when you want to attach an MHT file, you'll need to zip it first.
I have it now.

Firefox rendering problem - II

Attached is zip file of .mht file I was talking about previously. (I had to submit it as a new bug, since I wasn't able to attach with a comment previously). I don't know why it isn't downloaded. Message is confusing?

This is the current version of the file, which I also have. The one in question is an older version which illustrated the Latex results. The current version only describes them.

Firefox rendering problem

HelpLaTeX Symbol Tables(IE) - Mathematics - WikiEducator.html Attached file is supposed to be .mht, but it could not be attached as such.
