Search History

I don't know if this has been observed or not, in build 107 and Windows Traditional skin, if you click the search bar down arrow to show the history of searches, the first 1 1/2 pages is all blank and you have to scroll down to see the first URL in the search history.

MS Update Affected Avant

Ever since the last windows update, Avant got much worse in performance and mouse clicks. On a normal day I only check my emails and post a few things on forums like this, but in the last few days I've been using other software and found that my whole computer system was underperforming at an alarmi...

Re: Petition

You could use the Firefox engine for awhile. At the moment, with 34 open tabs, firefox.exe is averaging around 10% CPU usage and around 560 MB memory consumption. With the Firefox engine, there is never more than one instance of firefox.exe running. plugin-container.exe, the only other Firefox-engi...

Re: Avant crashes constantly.

Avant crashes constantly. It seems to coincide with an advert trying to load when I navigate to a site.I only say that because it happens more on ad heavy sites and when I first get to the page, within a few seconds. I have tried all the engines and it appears to crash equally on all three. My machi...

Re: Petition

I've been watching my CPU usage here lately. Along with the increased memory usage I'm finding that ybrowser is eating a lot of CPU cycles, like up to 67%. If I have several tabs open, the memory and CPU usage gets so high that I have to exit Avant and start over several times each session. I have a...

Re: MM Button

It should be fixed in 2013 build 22, please try the new version. So far (knocking on wood) it seems to be fixed. I'm still seeing more problems when clicking on a link with the middle mouse button. Sometimes I'll click 7 or 8 times and finally give up and use shift + click to open the link i...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

What I've been saying for a long time now. So many "Bells & Whistles" that build 107 has turned into one giant bug. From the homepage: " About Avant Browser Avant Browser is an ultra-fast web browser. Its user-friendly interface brings a new level of clarity and efficiency to your browsing experien...

Re: Separate Avant from IE , if we use other rendering engin

Even though I use IE8, I think it's kind of strange that IE would load when using Firefox. It's a total waste of resources.

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

@ notestracker I miss the good old stable Avant Browser, using it almost since it's birth, it didn't have all the bells and whistles, but it had all the things I needed, neat & clean and working all the way, the confidence was kinda like a brother to brother ;) What I've been saying for a long time...

Re: Didn't skins used to have custom buttons?

I seem to remember that though they all had the same buttons as far as functionality, but different skins had different graphic buttons. I do know that the Windows Traditional skin now has different graphics on the buttons that I don't really care for.... For instance, now the exit button is a whit...

Re: Didn't skins used to have custom buttons?

Am I misremembering this? Didn't the skins for Avant used to include a custom set of Standard Buttons in each skin? Apparently, in the new UI, all the skins get the same set of buttons, which to quite some degree defeats the purpose of custom skins. I seem to remember that though they all had the s...

[quote="xiaobing"]Isn't the option under save as widow?

Actually, there isn't a "Save As" option anymore. HOWEVER, I did find that if I select "Save", it gives me the option to "Save As" .mht (and other formats). :-o Obviously there's a learning curve to the "new" skins....

I just revisited several HTTPS: secure sites and I got the locked icon on all of them. :wtf: Only thing I can think of is something must have been munged in either Avant or the network system loaded in memory.

.Mht

What ever happened to "Save as .Mht"? Only way I've found to save in that format is to use Internet Explorer itself (not in Avant).
