Re: CoolPlayer Mp3 Player

You know this was at one time a great forum. It was almost like a family with people trying to help each other out. Lately, however, the tone has changed dramatically with the moderators abruptly telling people (mostly newbies)  to "search for this topic before posting" and wanting to be argumentati...

Re: CoolPlayer Mp3 Player

I have never used Incredimail but a lot of people who do use it report a lot of problems with it. Usually the problems are not apparent at first but develop after you have used it awhile. And it almost seems to be like sending spam when you add all the extras to a basic email communication. ::) Anyo...

Re: Typing polish letters... :-(((

Well Mironek it looks like you have two choices. 1. Upgrade your operating system. 2. Wait until AB v. 8 comes out and hope it works in that version.  ::) And I know that I am a smart a*s.  :P

Re: CoolPlayer Mp3 Player

As the big B says "each to his or her own". However are you Winamp fan(actics) aware that there is a big security problem with any Winamp player prior to the Dec 18th release? It has sometime to do with buffer over runs. Purity I have no problem with OE 6.0. But if you are looking for an alternative...

Re: No History showing

Also, you said you had re-installed IE 6 several times and that didn't help. You didn't say what your OS is but if it is WinXp you might want to read this article on re-installing IE--there is a registry key that needs deleting.

Re: No History showing

Hankenstein, I don't know if this will help or not but I found the following in a forum at Windows BBS. The guy was having the same problem you were having. Someone suggested he rename the History file and let windows create a new one. This is what he did: the history issue seems to be okay now need...

Re: why does avant open with last page

If you want Avant Browser to be your homepage, i.e., to open to AB, go to Tools-Avant Browser options-click on Home Page. Set Avant Browser as your home page and put a check mark in the box -Open home page when Avant Browser starts.

Re: Best Download Manager?

There is a freeware downloader called Fresh Download at :http://www.freshdevices.com/freshdown.html. I tried it and it works with Avant, but I prefer my shareware program which is Download Mage which can be found at: http://www.dlmage.com/. It costs $19.95 but I guess you get what you pay for  ::) H...

I have no problem viewing pdf files either, but Adobe has a support section at http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/98fe.htm
which may contain an answer to your problem.  :)

Re: lot of ie6 !!!

Greg, I can't be positive but it sounds as if you have what is called a "Window Bomb". It is a java script trojan. Symantec has this to say about it: "JS.Trojan.WindowBomb is a Trojan that opens a very large number of Web browser windows. In some cases, the mouse stops working and the time on the sy...

Re: "Tools -> Mail -> Read Mail"...doesn't w

Crom, if New Message and Send a link both work, I would suppose that you went to Tools-Avant Browser Options-Email Client and set IncrediMail as your default email client under Other Program -browse? However, if you have done this, then I have no suggestions as to why Read mail doesn't also work.  :...

The program that he is talking about is WinKey found at: http://www.copernic.com/winkey/. One of the functions of this program is to act as a Task Manager. I, however, have not downloaded the program; so, I can't verify his problem.

Re: Access violation.

Yes, maybe it is just a problem with freeware. I also use a shareware program called Antispy: located at http://www.softvers.com/antispy/. It causes me no problem when I use it. Aren't computers interesting?  ::)

Re: Access violation.

You know Pastork I think you may have hit upon something. I have a freeware program from ilSoftware that clears history, cookies, etc. When I used it and then tried to access History on Avant I got an "unspecified error." However, it was not necessary to re-install Avant. I simply ran the Clear hist...

Re: lagging while opening program and webpages

Benny, the things that you "routinely" do are the kind of things mentioned in the link I posted. I have no doubt if most people performed that kind of maintenance they would have fewer problems with their systems. But, you want to wager how many really do?  :-/  It's simpler just to try to find some...

Follow Up on DRM DangersRe: Norton AV 2003 and DRM

This is a followup on the Norton 2003 DRM activation discussion. The quote comes from WinXPnews an E-zine which I am subscribed to: "Follow Up on DRM Dangers We received a lot of mail from WinXPnews readers, expressing concern over Norton Antivirus (NAV) DRM and any possible harm the DRM might be do...

There is an excellent discussion of "sluggish system response with Windows ME at:

Response Number 3 offers a lot of suggestions for curing this problem. Go down to the 4th paragraph.

I believe that .kz is the country designation for Kazakhstan. The page in question is the  "REPUBLIC social and political WEEKLY". The language is Russian. It's nice to know that Avant is so widely appreciated and used by the world community.  :P

Norton AV 2003 and DRM

Norton AV 2003 is limited by Digital Rights Management. That is the same as WinXP. You must activate the software and can only use one copy of it. If you want to use it on your desktop and your laptop, you have to buy two copies. Norton claims that it was forced to do this because of piracy. If you ...
