Have you tried to completely uninstall and then reinstall again?

It's fixed in build 28.

It happens everytime?

Avant 2011 Build 27

Enter key works fine everywhere else including doing the same thing in Orca.

It happens every time.

Re: ybrowser.exe - Unable To Locate Component error

Downlaod a MSVCR71.dll to the folder:windows>system32 Also you nay need to register the dll file. start>run>type..regsvr32 msvcr71.dll >enter. Thanks! Before downloading a copy of the file, I searched my system and found it in several places, but not in \system32, so I copied it to \system32 from o...

Re: Why "y" -- That is, why ybrowser.exe?

We can't name the tab process to AOL, msn, explorer, netscape etc. The best we can choose is ybrowser.exe There's something that still doesn't make sense: earlier versions of Avant (11.x) didn't spawn multiple iterations of any of it's processes like the current and recent versions do with ybrowser...

ybrowser.exe - Unable To Locate Component error

Starting with build 18 and continuing in build 21, I get a ybrowser.exe error dialog almost every time I try to open a tab. The error dialog is titled ybrowser.exe - Unable To Locate Component. The error text is, "This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing ...

Re: avant browser problems

I hear ya bud soon orca will be merged with avant :) I'm seeing some of the same problems with Orca, so merging the gecko engine into Avant isn't going to be the answer until Mozilla fixes gecko (they are working on the memory leaks and excessive memory consumption). Orca slowly but surely uses mor...

Re: Orca has a memory leak

That's a problem. Avant Browser will include gecko engine in the future. By then the memory leak can be resolved. For the moment the author has no plan to upgrade Orca. The following was published on slashdot on 06/11/11: darthcamaro writes "If you're like a lot of Firefox 4 users out there, you've ...

At this point I can't remember for sure. However, I'm pretty sure that when it told me an update was available, and I agreed to the update, it updated itself.

Weird -- Orca updated itself to Avant

I rebooted my computer earlier this evening, and when I started Orca, I got a dialog box saying that a new version of Orca was available. Knowing that there have been no plans to update Orca as the gecko engine is being merged into Avant, I told it to go ahead and do the upgrade anyway, just to see ...

Re: wierd orca bug

I'm seeing the same thing with some of the pages at Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com). For example, I found a link to something I was checking on: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/222323-33-wmiadapter. The page seems to load up normally, and then it spontaneously gets the following inser...

Wrong site icons

For a while now, Orca has been displaying the wrong icons in some of the tabs and for some bookmarks. Some sites get the right icons, but others seem to randomly get icons for other sites or the default globe icon. I've even seen the icons for sites I've never been to before be incorrect. For exampl...

Re: Orca stops responding

I have had a similar problem. Usually I can fix it by switching to my home page by clicking on the home icon. I can't switch to the home page, because Orca is totally non-responsive at these times. It ignores all commands and mouse clicks until it comes back from whatever it's doing. If I click the...

Re: Orca stops responding

Had you checked in the task manager the memory Orca took up that moment and how much memory was left in all? If you're asking how much system memory remains available at the times the pauses occur, there's usually only about a 25 - 30 percent memory load. I've got 4 GB in the system, of which Win X...

Re: Orca has a memory leak

Hi, could you provide the urls of these sites? I suppose not all sites causing this problem~ Actually it doesn't seem to matter which sites. After a while, the memory usage just climbs, and nothing seems to fix the problem except a restart of Orca. Closing some tabs does reduce the memory usage som...

Orca stops responding

Orca regularly stops responding for a period of time (30 seconds to a minute) fairly often. This happens most frequently when I switch over to Orca after using another app when Orca has been left running in the background, but it happens when I'm actively using it too. During these non-responsive pe...

Orca has a memory leak

I usually leave Orca running with several open tabs as long as my computer is on. Over time, Orca consumes more and more memory with the same tabs open and no user activity. Most of the time, I can reclaim some of the memory with CleanMem, but Orca's usage creeps back up fairly quickly. After a whil...

Re: Switching tabs causes desktop refresh and misc. question

Are you sure the other items without icons showing beside were already opened once at least before? For this example, I opened it and added it into bookmarks, with the icon M showing aside. I'm sure they've all been opened from the bookmarks pane at least once before. Most of the ones I've noticed ...
