mbrazil, you are my hero!

thank for the tip, now i can migrate fully from ORCA to the new AVANT.

ORCA uses about 300MB with 30+ tabs, AVANT/FF about 1600MB. None tips and tweaks could help.
After using Firemin now its about only 1/10 of it.

even it will be asked for it billions times it was already decided not to update ORCA - which is really pitty... maybe there will be an "unofficial" update, just like it was for the very first ORCA.

its not only about some bugs, f.e. is JS much faster in FF4.

so, this was a good idea to start ORCA "clean". and then maps.google worked perfectly. then moved back the folder and... maps.google still works! I got absolutely no idea what/where the problem was. anyway, now it works and that's what's important. maybe, well just maybe, it could have been a proble...

sure JS is enabled
i removed all add-on/ext. just to be sure that none of them cause this.
cache is cleared every time ORCA starts and when the PC is rebooting.

none of this helped.

i got a strange problem with maps.google. i cannot zoom into the map, also any other action does not work. it seems that there is a problem with JS or maybe incompatible api. i did not change anything neither installed any add-ons. well, except made some tweaks. any other browser i tried works perfe...

i don't mean a new updated ORCA, i mean the gecko engine

solved!

it is not really a problem with ORCA but FLASH (now, who really could guess this?? )

solution:
deactive hardeware accelerator in FLASH.
right click on FLASH content (like youtube clips), settings, first option.

Do you have "wyciwyg" in your adress bar? If yes this is a known error in the mozilla engine.

Open ORCA and wait. While AVANT loads every tabs and shows the progress, ORCA loads and do nothing in this time except a white screen and suddenly pops up and everything is there. So i switched back to 1.2.2 and now everything works perfect, as usual.

ORCA 1.2.5 is to much unstable, where i can get 1.2.3? The archive on

only contains 1.2.2 as latest. I would like to see if the new gecko engine make ORCA so unstable or other changes.

confirm, 1.2.5 is unstable, switching between tabs sometimes hangs and ORCA does not react at all so i have to restart.
no extensions, all updates installed.
