[Feature Suggestion] Double Rendering Engine?

I have downloaded Netscape 8.0.2 and tried it for a few days. One of its many features is so far the best feature I have ever seen in any browser. It has two swappable rendering engines on which it is based, the Firefox engine and the common Internet Explorer engine. When you visit a website in Nets...

Re: Take a look at a new logo I designed for Avant Browser!

Hello, everyone. I designed a new logo for Avant Browser with Adobe Photoshop. It's not that I have anything against the current logo, which is great. I put my design here just so everyone could take a look, and I hope someone likes it. :) http://forum.chinavisual.com/files/113253_2005-06-21-221850...

[Feature Suggestion] Checkpoint

Sometimes, a few days after I visited a particular webpage, I wish to go back and see if that particular webpage has been updated since my last visit. But since it is a webpage, not a site, I didn't want to make it a bookmark for future visits. And the history of my browser is usually composed of a ...

I think we don't have to make Avant open-source. But we can still make Avant better and improve faster by recruiting a few other programmers to work together with Anderson Che. They will form a team and still keep the source code "closed" to the public. The problem that Avant is being developed so s...

[Feature Suggestion] Live bookmark

Live bookmark is a useful little feature in Firefox. I am sure you all know what it is. For those of you who don't, you can go here for a brief introduction http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/live-bookmarks . Anyway, I think Avant Browser should adopt this feature in future versions, because it...

Yes, I know that. But a changed name can't provide as enough information as a bookmark description.

[Feature Suggestion] Bookmark Description

I think Avant Browser should have its own bookmark manager. Moreover, with each bookmark there should be an associated description which users could modify when they add a new bookmark or later on. This is useful because sometimes I need to remind myself what login names I registered with for a spec...

[Feature Request] Total Skinning

I changed the skin of my Avant Browser and noticed that only the background and the icons are changed, while the title bar, the scroll bar and the menus stay unchanged. Is it possible to make Avant Browser totally customizable in terms of its apprearance in the future versions? By the way, I think w...

[Feature Request] Built-in Notepad

I think there should be a built-in notepad in Avant, where I could type something as I surf the web or copy whatever text on webpages to it. I should also be able to insert the notes into the text fields on a webpage such as an online form or a forum post editing window. Since this request has alrea...

The latest version of AB on the official site is 10.0 build 168. Where did you get the 10.1 version?

"Open Recent" should be one of the standard button

"Open recent" is a great feature of AB when I accidentally close a tab and want to bring it back quickly. I think it should be made more handy by placing an "Open Recent" button (with a drop down list, just like "Stop" and "Refresh") on the toolbar along with all the standard buttons.

[Feature Request] Paste-and-Go

When I copy a URL from for instance a PDF, a Word document or even a webpage, I would normally open a page in Avant, paste the URL in the address bar and press enter. However, that can be much easier with a "paste-and-go" feature: just copy the URL from anywhere and then go to Avant and right-click ...

Avant is the overall most popular browser on Download.com

I went to the browser section of Download.com and arranged all the different browsers they had in a descending order of popularity, and Avant Browser was number one with over eleven million downloads in total.

Is MetaCrawler better or worse than Google (or Yahoo)?

Is MetaCrawler better or worse than Google (or Yahoo)? I used it because it says it searches several mainstream engines, but does it work as good as Google or Yahoo alone?

I can show you how to have that feature in Avant and IE. Are you ready? OK, here we go then... A fine IE time saver This trick allows to copy the url of a target image in a web page. You can do this for any anchor link by right-clicking and choosing Copy shortcut. This copies the target url in your...

[Feature Request] Copy Image URL

When I right-click on a image, there should be a command called "Copy Image URL" in the menu, so that I could easily post that image on a forum with the img command of BBCode.

[Feature Request] Go to URL on page

Sometimes there are URLs in the articles I read on the web. If I want to go to that address, all I need to do is copy the URL and paste it in the address bar and then hit ENTER. To make this process easier and faster, there should be a command called "Go to URL" in the right-click menu together with...
