Brand new board style is now live!

Finally we have a board style that matches the main site. The old style is available if anyone would like to use it. Just go to the User Control Panel and find Board Preferences and you can change your style there, its called AvantBrowser 1.5. If not enough interest is shown I will discontinue the o...

scubamaster:
Just to let you know, both Office and Live Essentials both have an option to minimize the ribbon and then it has the same height of Avant, Chrome, IE9,etc..

Re: Internet Explorer 9

The current official release of Avant does not fully support IE9 no. You need the test build that was release strictly for testing to be able to use the full capability of IE9's new engine. There will eventually be an official build that has full support for IE9. But remember IE9 is still in beta.

Re: Avant 2010 (11.8) with IE9 Test

<t>No. The way it was setup, there was no way to change it to IE9. And since it was only a test build to test IE9 it wasn't really meant to be used as just another build of Avant.<br/> <br/> You can manually change the engine Avant uses no matter what build you have by changing the value in the regi...

Re: Avant 2010 (11.8) with IE9 Test

Well, the test build was only a test to see if there were any problems with switching to IE9. The rendering controls were taken out since they restricted you from changing the rendering to IE9. Once theres a stable version with support for IE9 we will find out if the rendering options are still ther...

Re: Is Avant going away?

As it stands right now Avant wouldn't beable to be ported to OSX simply because Internet Explorer does not run on OSX anymore.. But with plans to integrate Webkit and Gecko into Avant in 2011. It might be possible to bring it over to OSX but I would not hold my breath..

Re: Flash Player Updated

Yes, the IE flash version is activeX. The other browsers do not support activeX. So you need to keep both updated.

Re: Avant 2010 (11.8) with IE9 Test

I highly doubt anything bad would happen if you installed IE9, no matter what build you had of Avant. But, like I said in the other topic, without the test build that Anderson released, the scenarios that you would use IE9 in are very crippled. So far as CSS3 and HTML5 as well as the hardware accele...

Re: IE9

yes, Pip, Avant works great with IE9.... WITH the test build Anderson released. With the latest stable build Avant works alright but it doesn't take advantage of a lot of the good stuff that comes from the IE9 engine. So you will be fine either way but you might as well just wait for the test build ...

Re: Avant 2010 (11.8) with IE9 Test

<t>I'm downloading now and I'll report back with what I find out..<br/> <br/> Update: This test build helps use the IE9 engine a lot better than it does with the original build 122. The Acid3 test works identically. All the tests I did using the IE9 Test site worked pretty well. I did not have to ch...

Re: Cant open Excite in Avant

I also experienced this problem and I fixed it. But its probably a long shot for it to help anyone else.. I use a program called SpywareBlaster that keeps a list of sites that are determined to be fake or that distribute spyware. That list is put into the IE Privacy Sites list where you can pick whi...
