If you're part of the support staff, try reading my post that I'd gladly supply it in private to a support person. I just don't plan on sharing it publicly.

Re: error #8895?

Bump

Can anyone help? I'd like to be able to view all of my sites in Avant rather than switching back and forth between browsers.

error #8895?

I have one site (which I'd rather not name publicly due to its nature, but will gladly name in private to a support person if necessary) that will not open in Avant. The page merely shows "error #8895". The page opens fine in IE and Firefox, just not in Avant. I'm not positive, but this may have coi...

Compare it in IE and Avant and you'll see what I mean. You have to download the software first (it's free).

Well, technically it's not a toolbar in the normal use of the term. That's what sidestep calls it. But it's really just a web address. The shortcut the program installs is "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -new http://www.sidestep.com/desktop/?SbAutoOpen=1&SbLoc=Q which of course ope...

sidestep.com?

I just found this site in a travel article. They have this toolbar you can download to compare airfares, etc. from multiple travel sites. It's supposed to work in IE, which I'd think would mean it would run in Avant also, since Avant runs on IE. When the toolbar was installed, I ran it and it opened...

There are few known issues with Avant Browser's popup blocker that it won't block few popups
If you have XP SP2 then the workaround is available
Turn on the Internet Explorer's popup blocker and rename avant.exe to iexplore.exe
That did the trick! Thanks! :-)

It's only one site, and I was afraid someone would ask for the URL. It's an...ahem...adult site that I'd rather not post here publicly.

It spawns an IE popup upon arrival, then a second upon leaving. They're both definitely in an IE window, not within Avant, even though I came to the page via Avant.

This is a new one for me!

I just had a site spawn popups (upon exiting the page) that opened up not in Avant but in IE! I'm blocking popups, and it works great usually, but this was a new one for me. It was so odd seeing pure IE windows suddenly showing up!

The Microsoft Exchange web site for one: when you open an e-mail, there's a Close button that works with IE and Firefox, but doesn't work with Avant.

There are other sites, but I'm blanking on them at the moment.

"Close Window" (JavaScript command) Doesn't Work

Hope this hasn't been posted (I did a search). I just started using Avant, and I quickly noticed that if a window has a "Close Window" javascript command, it doesn't work; I have to click the X to close the window. Is this a bug, or is there something I need to know about using the Avant Browser to ...
