Oh Dude, you are THE MAN. Or, if you are female, you are THE WOMAN!

Thanks, I would never have figured that out, let alone been able to search that. :D

Avant not secure enough?

My bank is ending support for Avant next week, possibly because it identifies as an older version of IE. I will no longer be able to login to my account after that time, using Avant. :( I've been using AB for over 8 years. Orca will still be usable with the new https encryption, but I really, really...

Re: AD Blocker not working

BTW, in Orca when you right-click an image you should see "Block images from <sitename>" in the context popup. But I only want to block ONE image, not all of them. :? I really only use it to block annoying animated gifs, and gigantic sig images. But thanks for the info. I tried looking, and didn't ...

AD Blocker not working

In Avant, there was a context menu where a right click allowed me to "Add to AD Block list". That option is not visible in Orca, even though I do have the AD block enabled. It used to be there, as I can look in Tools/Orca Browser Options, and I see I have added three image to the default list. That ...

Re: Need Context Menu Item for Single Image AD Blocker

Well spotted - I didn't even realise that it was missing! Maybe because I never used it. I see that Avant has "Add to AD Black List" in the context menu whereas Orca doesn't. Exactamundo. I use it to turn off really annoying animated avatars and obnoxiously large sig images on the various...

Need Context Menu Item for Single Image AD Blocker

Like the Topic say, I am requesting a Context Menu Item for Single Image AD Blocker.
It is the only thing that seems to be missing in Orca from the Avant sibling.

I almost never use AD Blocker for ALL images from a server, just the annoying ones.

Thanks! :D

Re: Usage statistics

Orca is my first browser change in over 7 years. I hate FireFox, but love this. I had been using Avant
since 2002, and this is the best improvement over that. The speed improvement is phenomenal. =D>

The answer is to find the version of AB you like and stop updating it. I am using v. 9.02 build 033. There haven't been any new "features" that *I* have wanted since then, only annoying ones. I would be using Opera if the updates were forced. Also, I found a way to kill that stupid nag that tells me...

I use AB v. 9.02 build 033 - the last good build imho.

It is problem-free and there are no "features" that I miss.

If that is not the problem, and when all else fails, try User Profile Hive Cleanup Service. It speeds up your shutdown to ~15 seconds or less, by killing unresponsive programs, thereby allowing profile settings to finalize.

Download, install and run Startup Control Panel. It allows you to view uncheck any program that starts with Windows, whether it is for the current user only, all users, or run once.

Olde Skool

I do not see any improvement with current versions over v. 9.02 build 033 that outweighs all the undesirable new features. I did not want one single feature that has been introduced, but there have been many Many new ones that have made Avant Browser less attractive. STOP being like MicroSoft! :x

How about Tools > Internet Options > Clear History?
Yes, but I frequently just want to clear only certain ones, or days, not all of them in one fell swoop.
