AOL Browser

Oops didn't notice this topic beofre I started a new one.

I've tried it - also available from http://www.betanews.com

Ity's very quicker - a lot quicker than IE on it's own and faster than Avant too - wonder how they manage that?

AOL Browser

Has anyone tried the new AOL Browser - it's currently in Beta but you can get it here: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/AOL_Browser/1107803894/1 It also used the IE core, but seems considerably faster than IE or Avant - I wonder if Anderson can work out how they made it so quick and get Avant as...

Modal dialogs

The problem is resolved if the site in question uses Javascript to open a dialog. If it uses DHTML, then it opens in the whole of a new tab - this MS demo page illustrates the issue (try it in Avant 133 and in IE to see the difference). http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/samples/author/dhtml/refs/sh...

Problems with DHTML popups / modal dialogs

The latest version (133 at the time of writing) corrects the problems with dialog windows being opened by Javascript - they now work correctly. This techonology is frequently used by ASP.NET applications. I've found a slightly different, but related problem. IE can open modal dialogs using the showM...

Worst problem

The problem with modal dialog boxes called by Javascript is a biggy for me - lots of ASP.Net applications use this and it stop me testing my work - I've had to go back to a previous version to get past it.

Same problem

Got the same problem here and it's definately the JScript command window.showModalDialog that cause the problem - they open in a full sized tab instead of a sized modal window. Forgot to mention that this only re-appeared in 131 - 126 works correctly. The problem did appear in earlier releases a few...

I have the latest beta 10.0 build 111 There does seem to be a bit of a work around - but it would be good if it worked as it should! Thw workaround is to type the RSS link in the add...

Corrupt Download?

10.0.103 appears to be corrupt - I've tried clearing my cache etc. and re-downloading but the file won't install.

Java

Java shouldn't affect Javascript - Javascript is built into IE. I did a fresh install of XP, applied service pack 2 RC2 and this is the result - I'm wondering if it's the service pack that causes it?

Test window - problem replicated

I've copied the javascript used on the site I mentioned and written a simple test page that reproduces the problem. Check out http:// http://www.martindolphin.co.uk/avant There is a link on the page that opens this forum - try it in IE and it opens in a decent sized window, try it in Avant - site op...

One site?

I think it's the way they open popups. I'll grab the javascript and try and replicate it and let you have access to a test page to see what you think.

Re-installed windows - it still does it - I'll try and work out what the Javascript is that opens the windows - the site is http://www.****.co.uk btw - not sure how many Avant users they have!

New window problem

No Avant is not maximised and IE new windows behave as I would expect them - they open at "normal" size although there is a slightly different problem in IE - automatic popups don't open - there show a blank window with the "busy" signal but never actually display the message. I feel a weekend rebui...
