Re: Popup warning

Hi, I'm not paranoid. I appreciate the function in Avant to switch off ActiceX and Scripts. On many sites they have more bells and whistels than information. ActveX helps. On other sites you cannot get the information because they kill you with commercial pages and those garbage very often ar...

Re: Popup warning

You are not stupid. The resolution does not change the problem. On Pop-up Blocker is nothing to do. I changed the settings as you recommended. Automatic prompting for file downloads to Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls to Enable. The warning does persist as long as I have ticked "Disab...

Re: Popup warning

I'm not sure when Avant does the settings. Maybe on start maybe on shut down. Fact is Avants needs on startup the value 0 on this key. Maybe Avants needs 0 when going to a site where ActiveX Plugins are working. I don't know. So I set the value to 0 before I run Avant. But I only tried it on one sit...

Re: Popup warning

Your code is wrong. Clarification: The value avant.exe must be 0 when Avant starts. When Avant closes it set the value to 1. So you have to reset the value BEFORE Avant starts up. This is the correct row of lines. 1. Declare and set objects 2. Write to registry ands set the value to 0 3. Run avant. ...

Re: Popup warning

RunShell.run Chr(34) & "C:\Programme\Avant Browser\avant.exe" & Chr(34)

That is the correct syntax.
For English machines:

RunShell.run Chr(34) & "C:\Program Files\Avant Browser\avant.exe" & Chr(34)

or the path where Avant is installed.

Thx

Re: Popup warning

Yes, you can. But there is only one problem. The VBS-script does not work because it cannot read "Avant Browser". I don't know the syntax for pathnames when there is a space in it. I normally don't code VBS. Maybe someone knows (al least the internet *lol*) If I rename the folder from "Avant Browser...

Re: Popup warning

Hi addonsfan, your suggestion that is not coder like. We know that avant sets the value to 1. But we need to have 0 on avant start. So we set it to 0 before avant starts. Te easiest way is with a VBS-file. Create a textfile. Insert: Dim WshShell, RunShell Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript...

Re: Popup warning

OK. I did it because I can't sleep when a problem isn't solved. For the whole machine there is no entry but for current user I found it four times. I removed all avant.exe and the error is gone. The next step is to find out which one of the four is responsible. I will report when I got it. Thx. Six

Re: Avant uninstall problems!!

My suggestions:

1. Try with Miccrosoft Installer Clean up.
http://home.arcor.de/oldware/cleanup/cleanup.htm

2. If that won't work use CCleaner. It is freeware and it does not hurt. (housewife-software)

Re: Popup warning

Yes, I guess it is. The yellow warning at the top of the open page. I can close it. If I refresh the site it returns. I tried all suggestions from IE help, but there is no success because I want not open ActiveX. At the moment I went back to Avant 11.0 build 46. It is free of that and it has the sam...

Popup warning

Hello at @ll. Now I switched to XP and installed the latest version of Avant. :D It works fine so far. I only need an answer. In options I blocked ActiveX. Now I get a warning on the most sites that the view of the page will not be properly. That is correct but it nerves. The help from Internet Expl...

Re: Only a short question: Avant and HTML-View

OK.
I did the following.

I swiched Avant to "Work offline."

But when I open an HTML file it switches to online automatically.

That is not logically, it is a bug.

Best regards

Werner

Re: Only a short question: Avant and HTML-View

Yes, that is what I mean. But your answer is not that what I really want. Yes, in Internet connection pane I ticked "Always dial standard connection" The reason: All other programs are looking for that information before going internet. Example: I write my emails off line and when I hit "Send" my em...

Only a short question: Avant and HTML-View

When I double click an HTML-file to view it with Avant Browser so Avant always opens my Internet connection.
How can I stop it?
