Well one feature I liked that really is handy a lot of the time for me is the Opera web rocker. You can scroll a web page horizontally just like you do vertically. A feature I liked in Opera.

Not being a steady Firefox user, where are the block rules in Firefox? Firefox's Ad-Block extension or plugin has to be downloaded and installed. Look in Firefox's menu toolbar to find the plugin site. If installed correctly, you should see the Firefox interface change. Plainly visibly at the botto...

The problem with Avant Browser's ad-blocker like most IE-based browsers is that not all of the ads reveal their true source, or the server they come from. With the things JavaScript can do, advertisers can actually fool you, and your ad-blocker. Firefox's ad-blocker is much better, because it actual...

I think this issue should give some thought on how changing the web engine can affect Avant Browser. While the Gecko engine does has it's advantages over IE's, I definitely have some issues with the Gecko pertaining efficient use of computer hardware. One of the reasons why I don't like Mozilla and ...

Those are the weird pop-ups. I don't think even IE's own pop-up blocker blocks it. Google Toolbar the same I think. It's rare you encounter such a pop-up, but as Sergei said, you can disable scripts. I know a lot of sites don't require scripting for the site to work.

I got a question about the pop-up blocker.

Why has Anderson Che decided not to blend in Microsoft's Windows XP Service Pack 2's pop-up blocker? I know you can still do this, but what was the decision that made him do this? Is is that he didn't like the iexplore.exe being seen as Avant? Even the author of the NetCaptor browser decided to meld...

I think Windows Media Player 10 doesn't add any significant features other than stricter piracy prevention.

I think Avant Browser should be a frontend, not purely a IE or Gecko browser. I think this is better, because of choice. Choosing what wheels you want.

I tried Slim Browser, Maxthon, and just recently Netcaptor which is not free (free with ads and less options). I must say overall Avant Browser is the best. Avant Browser is just easier for me and even with the latest features it incorporates, it's still easier than any of those browsers. Maxthon an...

Well I personally think the e-mail checker will go very well with Avant Browser's tasktray option. I mean it will give Avant Browser's taskbar icon more purpose. Opera intergrated interface does that with it's M2 E-Mail client. I don't think it will bloat the program. The options can be laid in the ...

Yes I just found that out today. The original version of 9.02 B101 blocked pop-ups flawlessly unders SP2. Now with the .exe name change, Avant Browser gets horrid scores in pop-up tests. Just recently from http://www.popupcheck.com I got a 35 rating. I am suspicious of the name change though. Why ch...

Avant Browser's ad block a true blocker?

Does the ad blocker completely block ads meaning nothing is cached, or does it simply hide the ads from display? I read that Firefox's AdBlock extension is true blocking making browsing faster.

I just downloaded and installed the official version of SP2 for Windows XP. I passed all pop-up tests on the URL provided http://www.popupcheck.com. I got a 100% rating success. Well if you're a Windows 95/98 user, or a ME user, this probably doesn't mean much to you. There are plenty of free pop-up...

Well I got the official version of SP2. I tried out the new built-in IE pop-up blocker with Avant Browser at popuptest.com and I was satisfied with the results. About the only things that made it past were the banner ads, aside from that, I got no pop-ups on the tests I ran. Tests that Avant Browser...
