remove add & organize buttons from links bar

I searched for this but had no luck... I want to remove the "add the current page..." and "organize links" buttons from my links bar in AB. since I can right-click on a tab to add that page to the links bar, and the organize box can be launched from the favorites menu, it's odd that I can't disable ...

thanks for the note back. however, it wasn't my pc that crashed, just AB. I restarted my computer just to have a fresh slate and that's when AB thought I had never used it before. so I'm asking mainly: what kind of crash would cause AB to think it's never been run before?

lost settings after crash

I went to a site (latimes.com I believe) that uses popups. when the popups were blocked, AB crashed. I restarted my computer, and when I re-ran AB, it started as if I had never run it before. I've been using AB for a long time and each time I upgrade to the new version, it retains my settings. but t...

thanks for the quick reply! what I did to work around this (and other sites like it) is I turned on the ad blocker but I deleted ALL of the default addresses it contains. that way, I can simply block ads as I see them on sites I go to. I don't go to most ad intensive sites (like msn.com or yahoo.com...

AD blocker exception list doesn't allow site through

I looked for a post about this but couldn't find anything: When I have the ad blocker on, this site: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/ will come up but no images display. when I turn the ad blocker off, it works fine. but if I add the site to the ad blocker exception list (and put *'s at the start and...

thanks for the tips... I followed your directions for installing your ad blocker files in AB. I made a backup copy of my files, then installed your files in the correct folder. but I still see ads on this page: http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20040429-022446-7716r.htm sometimes I see both ad...

servedby.advertising.com isn't being blocked

with ad blocker turned on, and *servedby.advertising.com* listed in my adblocker, just about every 5th click on this page will allow an ad through: http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20040429-022446-7716r.htm any ideas why? I can say that the ones I see that are getting through are all animated...

ALT + TAB shows 2 instances of AB?

sorry if this has already been covered but I searched and didn't find anything... I use the MS PowerToy that shows me a thumbnail of each open application when I press ALT + TAB to switch between applications. When AB is running, however, it shows 2 instances of AB, and both of them will open AB whe...

it was under explorer, at the top level. I know it was, since I deselected it. but now it's gone.

and so is the folder. that's ok, I just think it's odd that the tweak interface was "smart" enough to see that I had deselected that option and then deleted the folder.

aw good, I'm glad I'm not being a pest. here's a final update: the poblem is solved, but this is interesting: I must have done something in the wrong order b/c the folder reappeared in AB just now. so I closed AB and opened TweakUI and the option was indeed checked again. So I unchecked it, closed T...

replying to many posts: 1. I've run TweakUI and selected "hide links folder" but it still appears in the favorites pane in AB after a system restart. 2. nah, the links folder will be recreated by windows. there's a microsoft kb article that states "the links folder is a permantent part of windows and cannot be deleted. but it can be hidden." or something to that effect. and then the article goes on to descibe how to hide it. which I've done. so to ...

links folder in favorites pane but not in organize...

in windows, I set the links folder properties to "hidden," and doesn't show up in my favorites menu in windows, and it's not in the "organize favorites" screen in AB, but it's still listed on the left pane when I enable View > Favorites.

I've restarted AB.

what gives?
