Re: Eagle's Nest Webcam

Oh.. I was shocked for a second.. My school has a building called "The Eagle's Nest" (Eagle is the mascot of course) and the phrase is hardwired to that. ;)

Hehe.. that's pretty cool though.

Why would they say it is a joke? It obviously is. They say they've been around since 2002, but the domain was registered in early February of this year.

Pshh..

Activation is a pain.. It only delays piracy, it doesn't discourage it.

Basically you need something that will list files in a directory, control access, and allow deletion from web. Other than that you can just use a normal, separate FTP server application.

Mmm.. I could make it in PHP but it's a lot of work to get it all in there.

I use BBEdit on my Mac. ;) http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/3117/screenshot508vm.th.jpg It has an incredible find & replace regex feature. Like.. I can for example change a list like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, into something like this: <a href="http://www.1.com">1</a> <a href="http://www.2.com">2</a> <a href...

Why didn't anyone tell me that there was a Geck-based Avant?! I'll have to install this on my dell as soon as I get the required ethernet!

Hosting Zoom / ResellerZoom have been great to me so far. The support seems very responsive, and there has not been any downtime in the month or so I've been with them. They will give you shell access if you submit a request for it (support ticket saying that you want it). I've heard great things ab...

Domains, no doubt: http://www.domainsite.com Hosting.. if you want to use multiple domains I would recommend ResellerZoom .. otherwise just HostingZoom . Just make sure that you do not use Globat.com. They have tried to bill my brother for a year of service after he canceled it.. and about the same ...

Do you need any more help with that javascript?

You don't need cookies either. Pending.be needs cookies since it has timezone adjustments, logins, etc. It specifically is using a combination of the two scripts (which are slightly modified specifically for it) to increase fallback support and allow the user to disable javascript. All you need to u...

It's a special combination of PHP and javascript coded entirely by me. You can get the source code for both on my website, though the source for the rest of pending.be (lots and lots and lots and lots) is not released and probably won't be. ;)

Hah, I'm not. .be domains had a free promotion going and I grabbed it. I think I will put in a check for cookies, and just use the countdown's set timezone if it can't get a timezone. But, most people have cookies enabled so it should not be a problem. Also, the popup should not be occurring.. I'll ...
