Re: Alternate Browsers Review

By the way what happened to mbrazil? Did he left Avant? :( It's been a while since I've been on the forums here. If Mbrazil is missing in action, it's probably for the same reason as I, got tired of waiting for Avant to get it's "stuff" together. In the mean time, I'm using LunaScape browser that i...

Re: Little bugs

Here's what I get (verbatim, so it may not make sense) when I run his three posts through a translator: Broke translated into English, and the time to do so. So. 1) During the initial download site have a long wait for it to start Engine - otherwise any page will be purple. 2) I play the flash game ...

I second your motion! =D> And, of course, I third it ... not that it will do any good. mbrazil, I think I'm at the point finally of giving up on Avant, so what--in your expert opinion--would be the best browser to switch to? Bear in mind: (1) I've grown fond of the add-ons a...

Re: Cannot Edit Bookmarks

In the same vein, Autofills cannot be edited, either; they must be recreated from scratch. Further, I'm using AB 2013 build 23 & experiencing this problem, so it has probably been true for all builds of AB 2013.

Re: History sidebar problem

I'll try not to sound too bitter about this, but ... Neither of the things you request can be done in any build of Avant Browser more recent that AB 2013 build 100. Or, to be more accurate, despite a massive groundswell of requests & complaints regarding the recent builds, the developer has dug-in a...

This is exactly where I'm at, too.
If I do find something, I'll let everyone here know.
Please, PLEASE do.

Re: Dismayed, disheartened, and disappointed

Already, it has been more than four months (since mid-April 2013) since the roll-out of the widely-panned and frequently-despised AB 2013 build 100 series, starting with Avant Browser 2013 alpha 100. I don't know why I cling to the ever-distant hope that sanity will return to the developer(s) and t...

Please sell AB 2013 build 23 to somebody else

Four days ago I posted the following in another thread ... Better yet ... could Anderson PLEASE sell the pre-2013 versions of Avant Browser to somebody who really cares about providing a browser which users actually WANT? Then Anderson could continue to tinker with his undesirable AB 2013 build 100+...

Better yet ... could Anderson PLEASE sell the pre-2013 versions of Avant Browser to somebody who really cares about providing a browser which users actually WANT? Then Anderson could continue to tinker with his undesirable AB 2013 build 100+ to his heart's delight and the rest of us could maybe act...

Re: Why does Avant "prefer" the Chrome rendering engine?

Obviously, none of us knows what Anderson's motivation was for favoring the Chrome engine, since he no longer communicates with anyone on these forums and doesn't seem to be willing to discuss anything with users anymore. However, it is my suspicion that the Chrome and Google Custom Search biases e...

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, brawnymike. :( I hope you are feeling much better now. Oh, I'm pretty much fully recovered. It just pains me to see that AB is not, and--given all indications--will never be, fully recovered. Methinks I've let my hesitation over embarking on the HUGE task of ...

Re: An exercise in logic

I've been away from this forum for a week (due to illness), and it's like returning to New Orleans 5 years after Hurricane Katrina: One is struck by how little has changed since the original devastation. Still no word from Anderson, still no improvements (or should I say "no return of lost functiona...

Re: Build 108 is a huge disappointment!

We can't coordinate the functions of the old version and the performance of new version currently. Once we found the solution we'll add them back. There is one solution to this dilemma: drop back to build 23, fix all the serious bugs, and re-release it for everyone to use use until Anderson can com...

But the problem just happens on a few computers, we cannot confirm it till now. I have recorded it and see whether the developer can find out the cause. I think this problem is more widespread than you realize. I have exactly the same problem, but have not mentioned it before now (mainly because I ...

Re: Build 108 is a huge disappointment!

It's starting to dawn on me just how out-of-date the firefox & chrome engines have become on the most recent *usable* version of Avant Browser, AB 2013 build 23. Of primary concern to me is the fact that the firefox engine in that version is generation 19, while the latest REAL firefox engine is at ...

Re: Build 108 is a huge disappointment!

To be painfully frank, if there were a way to download/convert Avant Browser autofills--of which I have over 100--to a file usable in other browsers (such as Firefox, ideally), I'd already be using another browser exclusively. Maybe THAT should be a new request for the next version: a way to downloa...
