Blue screen upgrading from Build23 to Build27 (2012)

Got a blue screen (something I havent seen in years!) when upgrading from b23 to b27 today. System: XP32/SP3 CPU: AMD 64X2 4200+ 1GB IE: 8.0.6001.18702 Operating system is maintained completely sterile (no toolbars, rigorous process and malware scanning) Blue screen - definitely because of installat...

Re: Roboform and 2012 version

It's not that Roboform doesnt work with Avant 2012, it's that the WAY it works is now unacceptable (impossible to configure toolbar position)

Re: Roboform and 2012 version

That's it for me folks. After years of Avant Browser, I'm done with Avant-over-IE. Roboform is such a vital tool to me that Avant's failure to implement a standard movable toolbar for Roboform is a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned. Going backward to pre-2012? Not an option, I'd rather collapse b...

Re: AB loses partial focus

I have also had chronic unresolved problems with Avant browser window focus. The information below may be helpful Jasmine: I usually open several tabs under AB simultaneously using 'Open all links in this folder' through my Bookmars Bar, as well as a Microsoft/XP Excel spreadsheet. I have discovered...

Yes - definitely. Roboform
And unfortunately in the new AvB builds, Roboform is not working perfectly (screens need to be refreshed sometimes for RF to identify them and display passcards).

Re: Blocker.swf

Running build 41 - just received same blocker.swf message at http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ I thought this issue was resolved ?? Even with this workaround? I have never seen the blocker.swf error message with Kudo's workaround applied (empty blocker.swf file) , nor am I aware that anyone has posted su...

Re: Blocker.swf

Oh well. It seems that although Builds 40/41 have somehow alleviated the blocker message, it has not been actually addressed and problems are still occasioanlly cropping up. Perhaps it's the weather :-) For those of you following this topic - go back to one of Kudo's posts (or mine) , there's a zero...

Re: Blocker.swf

Yes! So far so good. (See also topic: "blocker.swf issue") Version 11-7-B40 may have resolved this issue. Feedback from all posters who have experienced the error message would be appreciated. Build 40 does not present an error message at: www.marketwatch.com i.e. the zero-byte patch file, so far, d...

Re: Blocker.swf

According to Avant rep "Kudos" the problem is an ideosynchornous timimg issue related to flash opening of many simultaneous objects. I renamed \Program Files\Avant Browser\res\blocker.swf to blocker_.swf and replaced it with a 1-binary-zero-byte file as a temporary workaround. Avant may address and ...

Re: blocker.swf issue...

Sp3 has confirmed issues with certain AMD and/or HP-configed systems; on my machine specifically it screws up the Fax (virtual printer) support which I can't do without. Restoring to SP2 (as suggested by others who experienced the same problem) restored functional XP Fax support. A dozen or so SP3 p...

Re: blocker.swf issue...

Hmm - timing problems - as a retired firmware/software developer myself, I know all too well that those 'hit-and-run' buggers are a pain to pin down. So here's some more feedback on the specs of my machine's config (on which I confirmed that the 1-byte dummyfile replacement consistently works), thou...

Re: Blocker.swf

Just found and tested the the solution to error message found in another post:

Replace the 29-byte \Program Files\Avant Browser\res\blocker.swf with a 1-byte dummy file (containing a hex zero).

Re: blocker.swf issue...

Try replacing your blocker.swf file with the one attached. Unzip the file to C:\Program Files\Avant Browser\res\ THANK YOU. Finally a patch. Yes - the dummy blocker.swf file (a 1 byte hex'00' file) eliminates the error message for the test site: www.marketwatch.com Here's what I did: I renamed the ...

Re: Blocker.swf

Ok guys. I've been following this, sorry to disappoint you good guys at AB. I have IE8 on XP pro SP3 and AB 11.7B39 The bug has NOT been fixed. I get it consistently when I access www.marketwatch.com when Enable Ad Blocker is enabled. I do NOT however get the error message when I enter blocker.swf i...
