Computer not doing shut-down

Version 1.1 Build2
Occasionally computer shut-down will not work, due to orca.exe remaining an active process even though the program has been closed.
Unable to identify conditions which cause this to occur in detail.

Cant shut down computer

If the Tray Icon option is checked to enable, and also it is set to Minimise to system tray when click Close button, it then becomes impossible to shut down the computer.

Either one needs to close the tray icon first, or delete the process Orca.exe.

Re New Revision

I have already commented on the excellent performance of this revision. One little problem. At times - (I cannot identify why) - Orca prevents a computer shutdown. Orca is closed in task manager, but the orca.exe remains active in the processes. When this is manually ended - end process - then the c...

Mouse Frozen

Since the last Orca update, I have experiences intermittently freezing of the (wireless) mouse.

I believe this to be Orca related.

It is necessary to reboot to get the mouse restored.

Memory problems also continue, even though past suggestions have been implimented.

Re: Memory access error

Reloaded Orca Orca (RC3 SR1), and performed all stated modifications. (I have completed anti-virus scan first). If I go to Bookmarks, and "OPEN ALL LIMKS IN THIS FOLDER", which has say about 8 links, one of three things may occur. A. All 8 new tabs open correctly. B. A memory error occurs. C. 8 New ...

Re: Memory access error

Since my last posting, memory situation has deteriorated rapidly. Most often when I went to "Open all links in this folder", I get immediate memory error. I then believe that Orce updated and or re-installed - strange! I then discovered reported virus NAKURU. I have cleaned this up, reinstalled Orca...

Re: Memory access error

Further to my posting immediately above - not all memory errors have cleared up! Have had problems, but it would seem related to one site (or accumulation of data at that time! I think there is further to do on this. Incidentally, prior to this I have updated XP with this weeks downloads, which brin...

Re: Memory access error

Reply 12 on this tread does seem to clear up all the niggly memory problems.

The only further point I can make is that it is not clear on the Orca website that there is a revision Orca 1.1 RC3 SR1, and this was not documented there in the update history!

Spped also seems to have improved!

Re: Unable to Organise Bookmarks

Thanks for these replies.

If anyone has a problem with Bookmarks (Favourites) from IE8, they should look at the link provided by Hornakapopolis, which will display useful information relating to IE8. By following the guide, my problem has been resolved.

Unable to Organise Bookmarks

Whether in Avant or Orca, when I select Organise Bookmarks, I am presented with a blank inset showing only the (Internet Explorer) logo on the blue bar at the top. The contents of the bookmarks do not display. In all other respects Bookmarks operates correctly. Within Internet Explorer 8, Favorites ...
