Re: Avant Browser 2013 Beta 2

Reinstalling the 2013 Beta3 version did not fix this major problem I'm having [with 2013 version] using Firefox rendering mode, always getting that same XULRunner error dialog complaining about not being at 18.0.1 Gecko level. Could it be any of your Firefox plugins do not support FF/Gecko ver. 18?...

Re: Thats a lie

No, I'm a Net citizen who thinks it's utterly disrespectful that Tin-Brain dared to call someone else "knowledgeably challenged". Tin-Brain needs to get off the internet and learn some manners and watch his language. Also... the user-friendly interface on top of the three rendering engines (Trident,...

Are you saying that we should expect Avant auto-update to munge all the settings? That's got to be a bug, correct?

Re: Oprah & Safari

I believe some applications with Opera rendering, also for example Adobe Dreamweaver, have paid for a direct licensing agreement with Opera Software to use the Presto engine for rendering in their own app. I assume this is the same case for BrowseEmAll.

Re: Oprah & Safari

Well, I know Oprah does alot of talking as a talk show host on TV, but I don't know how well she surfs the Internet. Besides that, Avant Ultimate already uses all the different major browser rendering engines: IE/Trident, Firefox/Gecko, and WebKit rendering is used in both Chrome and Safari. Current...

Re: Bananabread WebGL application not working

Then try accessing with this link instead: http://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/demos/detail/bananabread/launch This works fine in current Firefox and Chrome. IE cannot run this because this is a WebGL demo and IE does not support WebGL. Older versions of Safari lack Float64Array support and cannot ru...

Re: Immediate update of Firefox & Chrome engines needed!

Both Chrome and Firefox, which use SPDY compression, where notified beforehand and fixed the security problem before the details of the CRIME exploit were publicly presented. This is already fixed in current versions of Chrome 21 and Firefox 15. Just need to update to these versions of the engines. ...

Did you download the Ultimate Version? Only the Ultimate version includes Firefox and Chrome rendering engines.

Up! Chrome copies all passwords and user names to google servers. @AXEMAN, can you confirm and provide your references/info that this actually happens for Chrome???

Re: firefox edition?

It's too bad Mozilla doesn't provide some sort of automatic update function for Firefox and for the Gecko engine they supply to be used with other browsers. They should be able to do this, and they should be able to ensure that updates to their engine won't cause problems for other browsers that us...

Re: firefox edition?

Yes, Mike, I'm sure you stand by what you said originally, and you gave lots of reasons to back it up. Unfortunately, all your reasons are just as reversed as your original statement, and you are still as wrong as before. If Mozilla wants to maintain and enhance their software's reputation, then the...

Re: firefox edition?

Firefox 10 was released on Jan. 31, 2012; that's 10 days ago as of this post. Obviously it will take some time and development effort to pull in the FF10 code, integrate, test, and verify everything is working for Avant. @mathman, my question to you is: how much time needs to elapse before you consi...

Re: Avant 2012 browser version naming confusion

What's the purpose/advantage for adding Chrome (isn't the Firefox rendering engine sufficient)? No, the FF engine is not sufficient. Considering that Chrome's WebKit rendering engine and V8 javascript engine are faster than FF's Gecko/SpiderMonkey, adding Chrome rendering is critically important! A...

Re: No FF as rendering engine

AFAIK, you can only use the FF rendering engine that comes included with Avant, which for AB2012 Ultimate b16 I believe is FF 8.0.1 9.0.1 actually I see. And that FF version info is not listed for build 16 on http://www.avantbrowser.com/new.aspx ? Despite the fact that FF engine 8.0.1 is listed for...
