If you have a scroll mouse you can enlarge (or make smaller) text size on any web page by holding down ctrl and rotating the wheel.

Re: Font size

Well, you certainly don't have to take my word for it. The above post refers to a MS KB article for the Outlook problem. This is where I found the info about Eudora. http://www.kangarose.com/tss/FAQs.html#favicons Scroll down to the 4th article. Btw. It works on my computer, i.e., removing check mar...

Re: Font size

This is really a quite irritating thing, but it is fairly easy to resolve. If you are using MS Outlook (not OE), read this   http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q242984%20  . If you are using any version of Eudora from v. 4 up to the present   v. 5.2.1 you can solve the pr...

Re: identification script

According to Auroras (sometime back) this is what you have to do: If you want to remove it then open REGEDIT and traverse to the following hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform and delete the String Value: Avant Browser [avantbr...

Re: Java Virtual Machine

And in Win98 (maybe WinXP) you can click on Start-Find-type in Msjava.dll and when you find it, right click it to find the version number. I don't know about Sun java since I don't have that version on my computer, but I expect typing in java.dll would produce similiar results?

Re: IE broken after uninstalling AvantBrowser

Probably the same as the MS Knowlege base article (I was too lazy to look it up), but you can repair IE without editing the registry by using the following directions. If the Internet Explorer Repair Tool Verification does not work, or if Internet Explorer 5 is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs ...

Do you mean check the legal status or the version you are using on your computer?

Good call Pastork. AdAware does have 2 files posted on their site to repair the damage caused by removing the c-lop file. And btw, Homeschooler has already been there.  ::)

Re: Java Virtual Machine

Hi Bobmeister  :). Good to see you again. Where did you get the info that MS will no longer support their VM? According to all that I read, it is back and forth in the court. MS is no longer required to use Sun Java. I am using MS VM v. 500.3809, althought the site you posted sees it as v. 1.1.4. An...

Re: Ad-aware 6.0 available

Homeschool Winner - Winsock is a dll file on Win98. It is 21 kb in size. Maybe you can copy it to a floppy from your good computer and copy it to your Systems folder on your damaged computer. It should work. Or you could run System File Checker and replace the file from there.  About the other progr...
