Re: AB 2014 Build 7 Ultimate - Firefox Plugin container cras

I've noticed crash sometimes happening if I just leave a few pages open in Avant for longer periods of time, half an hour or so even with Avant being minimized or in foreground. It's hard to be specific, since it seems to be random. But nevertheless crashes stared to happening all of a sudden with r...

Re: AB 2014 Build 7 Ultimate - Firefox Plugin container cras

I have the latest version of Avant Ultimate and the latest Flash version 15 and I still get plugin_container crashes several times a day. I have no extensions, and only latest Flash and Silverlight plugins. It's getting annoying. I can't remember correctly but I believe this started happening for me...

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

The floating icons now do appear under IE rendering (only tested under Win64/IE9, will test later with WinXP and IE8).
Good job!

If you want mark this one as Solved :).

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?p=187231#p187231 Yes, the behavior is same as before (with the exception of Chrome and Firefox rendering, installing and uninstalling has no effect there, the icons/options are always there). So, yes, uninstalling Irfanview makes the icons/options appear,...

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

Hi, no addons were enabled (on both systems). Just to be sure I tried a complete clean reinstall (with removing profile folder), and still there are no icons with any of the IE rendering options. Yes OS language is english (regional settings were not, but changing them to english/united states made ...

You're using IE rendering AXEMAN, right?

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

Ofcourse. As far as I can deduce, the icons appear only if you're using google chrome or firefox rendering. Icons do not appear for me at all (tested on two different machines one XP SP 3, other Win7 64bit SP1) on any type of IE rendering. For example http://newevolutiondesigns.com/images/freebies/h...

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

So any way to force those options to appear? Despite having other image viewers installed, windows photo viewer is still installed.

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

For those options to appear your default image viewer has to be the Windows default one (Windows Pictures and Fax Viewer).

So no Irfanview, Farstone.. or whatever. As soon as you install one of the other picture viewers those options dissappear.

Not Cool.

Re: Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

I guess it's possible, but since I pretty much use the same software on both setups, and since that toolbar is Avant's integrated feature I find it unprobable.

Anyway, let me rephrase the question then, under which circumstances do those (missing) icons (options) appear?

Floating toolbar (pictures) missing options

Hi, I'll try to keep this as concise as possible. Avant Browser Ultimate b182, Windows XP SP 3 (32 bit), IE8, Avant's floating toolbar looks like this: avantbrowser1.JPG Avant Browser Ultimate b182, Windows 7 SP 1 (64 bit), IE9, Avant's floating toolbar looks like this: avantbrowser2.jpg So, to my q...

Automatic image resizing not working in IE mode

Hi, this seems to be a long standing bug in AB. Automatic image resizing (when you open just an image in a tab, ie. http://img.chan4chan.com/img/2012-01-27/1323583073328.jpg ) does not work (either in IE9 or IE compatible mode). Opening the same link/image in either of the other engines (chrome/fire...

Re: Brand new Orca Browser website is now live!

The website http://www.orcabrowser.com/ under Safe Recovery says

Code: Select all

If Avant Browser is closed improperly..
it should probably say Orca Browser ;).

AD Blocker - Image results bug not fixed..

The bug doesn't seem to be fixed. With AD Blocker on, certain google image search results (butterfly) are still blocked, aswell as not shown in direct links like:
http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/3200/3236/butterfly_3_lg.gif
and

11.7 build 5 - windows all screwed up

So I updated from alpha 4 to build 5, and all opened windows are dislocated, not centered and basically in strange positions. Please take a look at the screenshot. A serious problem. I'm on widescreen resolution so that might be a problem. Tried using restore all, and maximize all but to na avail. I...

Re: New Avants - Constant Freeze-ups

I was implying at him.
And I agree with you.
Yeah I guess free open source projects have proven themselves to be a bust and unworthy.. Oh, wait. Not really.
Well it's his call, it's just a shame to see something with so much potential to have more problems with each build than that they solve.

Re: New Avants - Constant Freeze-ups

You know what, nevermind. There's probably some internal memory eating blackhole within Avant, and this kind of fluke guessing the cause is a real long shot.
Someone should take a long hard look at his code.
