Google search opening new IE browser

It might be an IE or Google setting, but ... I use the Google toolbar in Avant, and, following a search, whenever I click a link for an item, I get IE popping up - instead of a new tab opening in Avant!

Any idea as to what I should change to prevent IE opening??

I wish that it saved the history of that tab but it doesn't.

If you want, I can move this to the requests section.
Yes, feel free to move it.

Restore tabs with history after accidental close

Sometimes (quite often actually), I click a link in a page and Avant opens the link (of course) - now - I get so used to people specifying that the link (just clicked) should open a new page, that it always comes as a shock to me that, when I close the 'new' page, the original page has gone too. In ...

Where is this exactly - I can't see it.

As for sticking with it - I'm determined to try and understand this = and resolve it!

Thanks

You might, too, want to try copying… not moving if you clear records on exit… them to Temporary Internet Files as that's where they are located by default if FavOrg isn't used. If you do clear your Temporary Internet Files, they will go away, so this doesn't really seem to be a practical solution. ...

If it's not skin related, which I hope it is because that would be a relatively easy solution, how about adjusting the file association of URLs? It's in Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types. Clicking the "File Types" header will sort by that option. There should be two "Internet Shortcut"s...

One simple question... What Avant Skin are you using, as some of the skins have an Icon selected by the creator to replace the IE e . Could that be the cause? No skin selected - so. all's 'default', esp. as I deleted the ini file (and, in fact, the entire folder it was contained within). So, some s...

In Windows XP, the ini file is just shown as abrowser (Configuration Settings)........that's the file to delete.........when you restart Avant again, the file is recreated......you will, however have to reset your Avant Browser options that you had set previously. Yup - didn't mind doing that. Stil...

What Avant version are you running peetm? Favicons have only been supported since the 9.XX version (I think). A little research should tell us for sure when the support started. I just downloaded and installed the latest AVant ver - even selected a different (non-default) installation folder for it.

Are these all of the sites that do not have FavIcons, or just some of them? Here's a thought... not knowing what causes this or why my idea would affect this... and not being able to reproduce it, there's no way to check myself. But is it possible that this is tied to Avant also being named "iexplo...

I'd like to dump all my Avant favourites. I got a program sometime ago to refresh all the favicons - but this program made a bit of a mess. I've recently found a much better program, and IE displays all my favs correctly - those sites missing a favicon get the IE default icon. However, in Avant, the...
