Forum Background [Avant Browser skin]

Is it possible to make the forum 'float' above the gradient so that only the forum scrolls.

I find it a little distracting to see the screen getting bright as a scroll down the pages.

Re: Avant loses MANY user settings if shutdown is incomplete

This happens because when Avant & Orca are asked to close, they write their current settings to a file (I cannot remember the name of the file, it's been a while since I actually used the program). As this file is open should a shutdown be forced while it is being written to, the file will become co...

Re: Caret Browsing

Just installed Orca on my XP Virtual Machine and tried DrDrrae's "fix", that key wasn't there so I created it.

Restarted Orca and for me, it didn't work.

BTW for the issue to appear for me, I had to hit the F7 key repeatedly in very quick succession.

Re: Caret Browsing

OK, I am running Firefox 3.0 on my Mac, and I also experience the same situation as Nlovestrom, with this in mind, I suggest that this is not a bug in Orca, but with the Gecko engine that it uses.

How about something more tangible, like when this new year can we hope to see it?

I have Avant & Orca on my Linux setup!

Made you look ;) :D

But I have.

Avant Window Manager, which is an OSX style dock.

&

Orca Screen Reader & Magnifier.

Both available to Ubuntu users.

I think that Anderson might want to reconsider the name of Orca should he produce a Linux version for clarity's sake.

Re: Television Licence.

And all the years, having the privilage of free TV, I would have never thought that TV wasn't actually free in most countries. Is it atleast commercial free?... Yes, All BBC channels in the UK are free of paid messages, the only announcements that they show are between programmes and are for either...

Re: Television Licence.

I`m not sure, angeldust, but my guess is that now its most likely a small hand-held device. I agree that the BBC should be funded from a licence and that some of it is for BBC radio (the BBC World Service is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth office)but its the fact that you are considered guil...

Re: Web Host & HTTP File server

I used to use FreeNAS, a nice setup. :) But I wanted to use the box as video store for my XBox360 & PS3, so at the time, converting it to Media Center was the only option. The US Midwest is notorious for it's storms and power outages, so having the storage on my PC isn't the best solution so I am ch...

My shared server already uses cPanel.

Web Host & HTTP File server

I am using HFS from http://www.rejetto.com/hfs, a program which enables people to view and download files just by using their browser without the hassle of FTP.

Is there anything like it that I can install on my shared webhost?

As my family has its fair share of technophobes with computers. :)

Re: One Week Later

I love Linux. HeHe... Darth, Linux and I believe Mac both have UAC type dialogs, however, I find them a lost less nagging than UAC in Vista. That's because OSX was built on a *nix background. But the real point of the constant UAC nagging in Vista is that most software (if not all) for Vista has to...

Re: Compatibilty with Logitech mouse Forward and Back buttons

I find it's best to use the "Generic Button" setting for the 3rd (mouse wheel), 4th (Fwd) & 5th (back) buttons, as it usually negated the need for "Application specific" configurations of the mouse buttons, which SetPoint doesn't do.

Re: Compatibilty with Logitech mouse Forward and Back buttons

Have you not tried setting SetPoint to use "generic button" for the front and back buttons?

This is more a flaw in SetPoint trying to be special rather than let the mouse follow the MS intellimouse standard as default.

Follow this post from the AB 10.2 not closing thread to find a program which when run in a command line or as part of a shortcut, which start any selected program with affinity to whatever processors / cores and whatever priority you choose.
