Re: Orca 1.2.5 freezing up.

Does Orca max out your CPU (or at least 1 core, if you're on a dual or quad) when it freezes? Also, that's odd it'll let you change tabs and scroll but not do anything else... haven't had that happen to me (mine just becomes totally unresponsive), so I can't really offer any more suggestions but I'm...

Re: Orca 1.2.5 freezing up.

<t>Any particular websites triggering it? Is it reproducible? Have you noticed any patterns? Try clearing out the cache/temporary internet files, history, etc., then surf with Flash off. If you're still getting crashes, try disabling all plugins and extensions as well, and/or consider upgrading them...

Speaking of which, has this bug been addressed? I'm not sure how it got got changed in code, but it doesn't seem like it'd be too much of an issue to fix :?:

Re: Orca 1.2.5 stability issue

I've also noticed that from time to time, Orca becomes sluggish if I don't delete my browsing history/cache/blocked URLs, etc for a while (as I don't have any settings to clear them on exit). I cleared them just now and things are a bit more snappy. I'll keep testing :)

Re: Orca 1.2.5 stability issue

Hi,

Seems like I still had the old 10.0.22.87 build. I have upgraded to the latest (10.0.32.18, using the manual .xpi download and copy/paste into Orca plugins dir) - I'll see if that helps at all!

Thanks,

Re: Orca 1.2.5 stability issue

Hi, I'm not running any extensions; I haven't changed or upgraded my plugins lately, but I'll do some testing to see if there's a problem with one of them. I get the feeling Flash may be causing issues here, so I'll surf with it off for a while to see if that helps at all. Over the past couple of ho...

Orca 1.2.5 stability issue

Hi, After recently upgrading to build 5, I'm experiencing intermittent stability issues. I have no idea what is causing it (haven't seen a pattern yet), but occasionally Orca will become extremely sluggish for a few seconds, then eventually stop responding to any input. During this time, CPU maxes o...

Re: Transparent Skin

I'm currently using the AthenX skin in Orca, with as few toolbar icons (and no text labels, of course) as I can manage. It certainly looks alright to me, but integration of Aero Glass would be phenomenal. What would also look fantastic is if tabs within Orca, when not maximized, also used Glass, alt...

Re: Stopping Orca from saving passwords?

Thanks kudos. I had a feeling there was a thread about this already but I guess I didn't look hard enough! I was indeed using the Gecko password manager, which I have since disabled.

Cheers,

Stopping Orca from saving passwords?

Hi, I have this option disabled: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8262/55686344.png But whenever I visit a new site requiring logins, I still get the prompt asking to Save, Not Now, or Never For This Site. I usually click Never for this site, which works as it should. Unfortunately, I accidentally h...

Re: Upgrading to build 2?

Ok - I will keep that in mind! If a new build seems a bit broken, I'll clear Mozdata first and go from there.

Re: Why does Orca connect to HopOne Internet Corporation?

I don't usually run PeerGuardian but I turn it on if I need to download something P2P (I don't have cable in my new place; gotta keep up with my shows! hehe). I wouldn't have known Orca connects to HopOne, had I not needed to download some episodes...

Re: Why does Orca connect to HopOne Internet Corporation?

When Avant's pages were down lately, the searchbox, which is set to google for me, didn't work because the server google.avantforce.com couldn't be contaced. The URL bar however displayed google.com as site, and the "Go to"-button lauched Google with no problems.. Yeah, when PeerGuardian blocks Hop...

Re: Upgrading to build 2?

If you don't use extensions then you do not have to delete the folder. Orca options are stored in conf and they won't be disturbed, but about:config is stored in prefs.js inside Orca Profiles/Mozdata/Userdata so yes it would reset any changes you made. Thanks Matt. I'm not using any extensions so I...

Upgrading to build 2?

Hi, The post with the build 2 update states that Important:If you previously had 1.2 Build 1 installed, due to problems with the addons system that arrise with some installs, please delete your Mozdata folder. I was wondering what gets deleted here (I know the post also says extensions will have to ...

Why does Orca connect to HopOne Internet Corporation?

Hi, I changed my default standard search from Avantfind to Google (Orca Browser Options --> Search Engine --> Standard Search --> Web). Orca uses this search whenever I execute a super drag-and-drop of anything that is not a web address (e.g., highlighted text, mispelled URLs, etc), which is pretty ...

Re: fullscreen video

Could it be a problem with how the JW FLV Player triggers full screen? On the homepage for the player, fullscreen seems to work; perhaps it is fixed in more recent versions?
