Re: Avant vs Firefox

Did you really think there would be a tremendous amount of Firefox users reading the Avant forum? :?

Remove icons from toolbar

Just went back to 11.0 build 46 and need to shorten up the icons on the toolbar at the top. There are 3 red x's for disabling pictures, animations, and block unwanted pop ups. Being as it is already covered under tools, this is a duplication. How to delete 'em or get rid of? Can't move them.

Re: Active X warning on AvantBrowser 11.5 build 11

Know the feeling! Spent THREE days trying various things to get rid of it, from configuration to reg hacks, no luck. After reading your post, I had recently upgraded from 11.0 build 46 to 11.5 build 8. Something clicked when reading your post, so I reinstalled the 11.0 version and BAM, no more bar! ...

Re: upset & need help with 11.5 build 8 vs 11.0 build 46

Just another helpful hint: Before doing ANY upgrade of a program, I always backup the program, even Avant. Then is something goes awry, save myself a lot of time / frustration / anger by just restoring that particular file/program. Works every time! :)

"Fill Forms" missing on r/click menu

There was an entry w/the title in the subject. After upgrading to the latest, it is missing, not there, kaput! Is it me or is there something to add to get it back?

EDIT: Nevermind, had to go into the Tools/addons and check the box. Working ok now, sorry for taking up the space....

Re: Password to AutoFills

Not absolutely certain about this, but think I read that if pw is lost, you will also lose ALL your entries and will have to start over from scratch. Maybe someone can verify, but look under the help file. Think that is where I saw it in the beginning.

Also, when you "uninstalled/re-installed", did you clean out the registry before the reinstall?

Outstanding Spyware/Malware/Trojan Program!

Recently had a problelm w/the trojan "nzm.exe" on both my desktop and laptop machines. Could not get rid of it using my NOD32/ TrojanHunter/Spybot/Spywareblaster programs. Was directed to this site for the solution and PLEASE believe me, it was picked up immediately and threw in jail! Also found 3/4...

I've been using Speedtest.net for a while, but not at this "beta" address. Does anyone notice a difference between it and the regular http://www.speedtest.net? On my laptop, I like the old one the best! http://forum.avantbrowser.com/userpix/1371_old_1.gif http://forum.avantbrowser.com/userpix...

Re: About can't connect to AB server

I knew I was right about storing stuff on-line! As for Form Filling and Passwords, consider paying for RoboForm--at least you'll know where your data is! Sara :? Right ON! Been using Roboform for at least 5 years, free upgrades ALWAYS, and have not lost any records and I have over 130 today. :)

Moving the profile.

Hi Gang! Gotta question before I do this: My desktop is XP Pro, my laptop is XP Media Edition. Can I copy/paste my Avant profile into the Media Edition from the Pro version w/out gumming anything up?

Re: Browsers and Users are under attack...

Coincidently, I have just got through fighting the "trojan.startup.1", but finally got rid of it. 3 days, machine acting like it was going to crash, and I too, am running NOD32. Been running it for 3 years, but a little ole program called "Bazooka", freeware, found it. Never so happy to see somethin...

Re: Browsers and User are under attack...

Sorry to hear the problems you're having, josephrot. One thing I forgot to state in my last post concerning this problem: It is ALWAYS safe to have an image of your HD "just in case". I image about every 3/4 days, so even if my AV had not caught that badboy, a simple 15 minute restore of an earlier ...

Re: Browsers and User are under attack...

What a very interesting thread! Had the bejesus scared out of me TWICE this week w/a trojan (VBS/tivso.gen trojan) TRIED to ride in on Avant to my machine. But NOD32 threw up this HUGE red & white "Threat Alert" before it got on. Sent the alert to the good folks at Eset and there was no infection. W...
