Re: Which bugs will be fixed, and which ones will be ignored

Mike, I'm STILL using Ultimate 2012 build 197 (after trying Avant 2013 early bui;ds and not at all liking them). In your opinion, should I keep on using build 197? What's your feeling about where Avant 2013 is at, and when it might become the one to use? I do a lot of browsing with Firefox -- but st...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

It is concerning all the tabs of ONE Process-ID (PID -> TaskManager), means concerning all tabs using the same ybrowser.exeRS A summary so far seems to be: So, it happens for you using IE rendering mode, for the subset of tabs associated with one instance of ybrowser.exe (a single PID) but presumab...

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

Just a few minutes ago I performed an interesting test, on my 64-bit Windows 8 Pro system running Avant Ultimate 2012 build 197. I'm still unwilling to jump to Avant 2013 after major disruption and wasting of time when I tried it a few months ago. Admittedly, my results could be different with this ...

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

After testing for a few more days, I must say that turning off Auto-Complete suggestion of mine is at best only a partial solution, because I'm still getting instances of those weird URL strings. I notice it typically when clicking links inside my e-mail client, but it that's not to say it isn't sti...

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

The following might be a possible solution (or at least a workaround), and probably should let the development team have something concrete to analyze. A day or two ago, just out of curiosity, I disabled Auto-Complete, for both address bar and web pages. I don;t know if it was really necessary to di...

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

xiaobing, this is really driving me crazy (crazier. to be more accurate!), and it's very time wasting. Is there an understanding of the problem yet? I wonder why it started happening relatively recently -- months ago, not years. Is there a solution yet?

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

As I mentioned at discussion thread http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32332 before Mike Brazil told me that it's being discussed in this thread, I've been getting this message A LOT over the last weeks or month or so (before which I would see it only occasionally). In fact, it has mo...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

It still happens to people (including myself). It's not purple anymore, but grey (gray) -- Avant's "GSOD" you could now say. In my case (on Avant 2012 build 197) it can go for hours or even days without happening, then unpredictably happen two or three times in a row.

Re: Weird url when clicking link in email

Before realizing that the topic was already being discussed in this thread, yesterday I posted a similar question at http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32332&p=190183#p190183 (which, of course, I will now discontinue). My observations are similar to those described earlier in this thr...

Strange messages when opening new links

Has anybody else experienced the following? Fairly often, when I attempt to open a web page (for example, by clicking on a valid link in my e-mail client) instead of the expected link opening I get a Google search page with weird search arguments (Google is my Avant default search engine), An exampl...

Re: Roboform v7.7.5 not working in Avant Firefox mode

I just tried the roboforom 7.8.6.5 in win8 32 bit, but didn't find any problem under IE & firefox engines till now. I will try the win8 64 bit version later... Xiaobing, I have reverted from Avant 2013 to Avant 2012 build 197, and after waiting a week or so can now say that Roboform is working fine...

Re: Avant Browser 2013 Beta 2

xiaobing, for the moment I have switched back to 2012 build 197 version, so as to get some useful work done. Reinstalling the 2013 Beta3 version did not fix this major problem I'm having [with 2013 version] using Firefox rendering mode, always getting that same XULRunner error dialog complaining abo...

Re: Roboform v7.7.5 not working in Avant Firefox mode

Ni hao Xiaobing, These two problems were with the 2013 Beta3 version (Firefox rendering mode). For the moment I have switched back to 2012 build 197 version, and RoboForm is again working properly. I switched back to build 197 so as to get some useful work done. (Reinstalling the 2013 Beta3 version ...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

FWIW, since I finally was able to get 2013 installed and working (a couple of days ago), the number of "Something went wrong..." instances has decreased to near zero. I am downloading it and will install right away. In focussing on the complexities of preparing for and executing the upgrade to Wind...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

Since reporting yesterday -- under WIndows 8, but this might be a red herring -- I have had repeated "Something went wrong with this webpage" crashes, often with just a single tab open and even without Firefox being active. I have temporarily switched to IE10 Standards rendering mode to see if that'...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

I gad done LOTS of research and testing of the pre-release betas and RTM (in virtual machines), felt pretty confident that it would work without too many problems, and the once-off offer to upgrade a newly-purchased system for only $14.99 expires at the end of this month. (I will not be upgrading my...

Re: Occasional error: Something went wrong with this webpage

For the record: Yesterday I upgraded from 64-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Windows 8 Pro, which largely went smoothly (just a couple of application compatibility issues, and a still-to-be-resolved driver issue with a USB 3.0 hard disk docking device). However in Firefox rendering mode I've been getting a ...

Re: Roboform v7.7.5 not working in Avant Firefox mode

For the record: Yesterday I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (both 64-bit), and have been having a lot of errors of the " RoboForm not working, please reinstall" type. I certainly have installed the very latest version 7.8.6.5 of RoboForm which is SUPPOSED to work with IE10 (on Windows 8), a...
