Re: Make System Buttons movable

Yay ! \o/ I'm now on a current build for what the first time in what seems like forever. System buttons are indeed moveable, and work a treat. Thanks Anderson  I only have one *tiny* niggle ... the Next Window (right arrow) and Previous Window (left arrow) order has been reversed and is now...

Well ... yes, or I wouldn't have said it. ;)
It just makes life unnecessarily hard for me the way I prefer to use Avant and organise the rest of my screen real estate.

Re: Make System Buttons movable

Well - here we all are, 7 months later, up to version 11.6 build 04 (beta) and no sign at all of this issue being addressed.

PLEASE, Anderson - I'm on my knees begging you to look at this issue - I'm still stuck on version 11.0 build 46 because of it

Re: Vista 4Small icons By Pietos

Nederpietos: Do you still have the old Vista-4 Black skin hanging around for older versions of Avant [Version 11.0 Build 45] ? I'm still stuck on the old version because I hate having the System buttons down by the tab bar. Since the loss of archived skins here due to forum version upgrade, and GetS...

Re: Make system buttons movable

This is one request I must add my support to. Most of Anderson's design choices I can live with (in fact, I *love* most of them) or he has provided the facility to customise/change them to my own needs. This one I just cannot work with. I always have my tab bar at the bottom (it's the primary reason...

Re: With IE7, why use Avant?

No, I mean Ctrl+zoom works in Avant with IE7 installed. Have you renamed Avant to iexplore.exe? Aaaaaaah ! Thank you ! :D I'd forgotten this little trick - I had to do it with some of the more ancient Avant builds to get some of the MS IE powertoys working. Looks like IE7's zoom feature needs it to...

Ctrl +/- or Ctrl-scrollwheel TextSize/Zoom not working

Hiya. Had a good search through past topics but can't find anything that exactly matches. In Avant 10.x & 11 I lost the ability to use Ctrl+/Ctrl- or Ctrl-mousewheel to change `zoom` level of a page. (With IE6 core this feature = Text Size, with IE7 core = Page Zoom) In IE 6 & 7 `native` (without Av...

Dictionary.com (F) This toolbar won't display in Avant - but that's okay as it's really ugly! Much better though, it makes dictionary and thesaurus definitions available from the right-click menu. Only one drawback - it launches an IE Window. Oh well. Just noticed this post ... I already have this ...

I know Fotopic well (In fact I am friends with Joel & Nicky who run it :D ) I have no problem using it with Avant Browser and Sun Java. Internet Explorer has a known problem with always using your chosen Java VM when Microsoft VM is still installed - for some methods of calling java IE will *insist*...

The HOSTS file (in %WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc\) is simply a local "over-ride" for normal hostname to IP DNS lookups. It works solely at the low level IP layer, and is not aware of any higher level protocol level stuff like HTTP, FTP or whatever, or any file information such as a1.b2.c3.d4/directo...

One small additional point ... I like the current `Re-Open Last Closed` but it would be nice if a single selected item from the list would re-open in a new window, rather than overwrite the one you happen to be in at the time. EDIT: [/u] Actually - ignore this. I see now that you can select new or c...

I'd like to add my support to this request. I find the new 13x13 buttons too small at 1600x1200, even on a 21" screen. I can understand why Anderson shrunk them, to fit onto a standard window title bar ... but he made an assumption (common amongst many many developers ;) ) that *everyone* is using ...

I heartily endorse this request. With high resolutions and/or lots of tabs, the thickness of a couple of bounding lines and some slightly bolder title text doesn't really get the job done. My personal preference would be to make it like XP taskbar behaviour, and "reverse" the background and title te...

This is probably one of my biggest niggles with Avant. (Having said that - it's fairly minor in the grand scheme of things, so demonstrates nicely the overall exellence of Avant ;) ) One of the basic concepts in a User Interface is :- If it looks the same as something else, make it behave the same a...
