Re: Orca Browser 1.1 Alpha 2 Discussion

Hello everyone - Haven't been here since I traded Avant for Firefox. I'm back for three reasons : 1- If I have the same "revelation" switching from Firefox to Orca as I had when moving from IE to Avant, it's worth being taken into consideration ; 2- Looks like there is already a deal of very positiv...

IE Active Scripting & Avant Browser

Hi, Could anyone let me know as for : 1- What corresponds to Active Scripting in Avant Browser: Scripts, Java applets, ActiveX ? I believe it is of course Scripts , but does this correspond to all Active Scripting components? 2- Does disabling Active Scripting in Internet Explorer settings disables ...

Why not just download from http://www.avantbrowser.com/download.html ? Funny thing though, I've sometimes noticed availability of a new version on other sites before actually prposed on AB's Home page, and this is true for other softwares too. Generally speaking, unless a site is absolutely secure, ...

Right. Avant Browser has nothing to do with our problem.
Life is funny: why is it we are glad to notice our problem is shared by others? Weakness, I say!
Cheers-

EDIT: Does anyone know what's been going on with Roboform to explain so many updates in such a short period of time?

If the development and issue of my little problem may be of any interest, here it is : The problem mentioned on this post was *not* related to Avant Browser. For testing purposes, I have: 1- Installed another IE-engined tab browser (btw, no doubt I'm sticking with Avant, but that's another thing) 2-...

AB 10.1.32 and Roboform 6.5.7

Hi, I've encountered a problem using Roboform 6.5.7 within AB 10.1 build32. I switched from Roboform 6.5.6 to 6.5.7 and from AB 10.1.31 to 10.1.32 yesterday at a few hours of interval, so I have no idea what/where anything changed in comparison to previous normal layout. I first believed the cause w...

Thanks, Steven; but the point is I had removed (and backuped) this key from the Registry after having uninstalled AB, and that it did not reappear when I reinstalled AB. I wrote it back to the Registry myself afterwards (in the doubt). I could of course remove it and see if/how/when it reappears, bu...

OK, but why should Avant Browser intervene in this Windows' process?

The registry entry is AB related :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avant Browser]
"SID"="S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxx"

It's not a great matter, but I'm just curious ...

Thanks, Steven.
Second and logical part of my question would be:
SID being a user profile ID, but established by whome?
Maybe Microsoft (Updates and Genuine Advantage Validation Tool) since I browse only with AB (I told you guys I was faithful  )

AB related "SID" in Registry (?)

Hello everyone, Would anyone have a clue on what the following Avant Browser registry entry may be? I did some registry cleaning (in fact I desinstalled AB, cleaned the whole system/registry, reinstalled AB) and found this mysterious data : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avant Browser] "SID"="S-1-5-21...

Well, I've got my first impressions on GMail now... not bad, but html coded emails don't always render right. Otherwise, there are several innovative tools to handling one's mail. The thing is "smart". I've got several webmails' accounts and, frankly, Yahoo! Mail seems to me the most accomplished, b...

The future of humanity is in convergence! I've chosen Avant Browser, too. But let's agree on the fact that a browser's quality is better related to one's expectations than to comparisons, given the fact a perfect browser, as an idle woman - or man! - is but the sum of all (browsers!). I know, it sou...
