There are two things you may want to try.  Either make a Robo Form rule for your profile page not to enter in information or make your information password protected and then when it asks you for your password hit the cancle button.  Either way should work, and i'm glad i could help you out Pip.

Coolfox......you are a genius...........Turning off Roboform prior to changing profile saves the previous personal information where it would fill in your name........thanks for the tip.........now if I can remember to do it each time... ::)

Nope, Mariuz is suppost to enter somethings manually, but i think even thats not working.  I even tried entering it on another computer without Norton Internet Security and I got the same error.  So who knows.

I hope turning off Robo Form works if it does, you may want to make a do not fill rule for your profile window.

You know Cool....I never thought of that happening...I do use it and it autofills where it needs to........maybe I will turn it off and go into Profile to see what happens.....did you ever get your profile problem solved?

Pip, are you using Robo From?  Because if so it might be auto filling in ur name and stuff like that into all the boxes deleting the previous information.

I think bati is right about this belonging in the Forum suggestions.  I think it is a function of the Forum set-up, not Avant--just like the number of days to be searched.

Pete, you are right, user name doesn't change, as a matter a fact I would have dropped the 50 sooner, had I known that it wasn't the same as your nickname!  Of course all I had to do was read it! ;D

Sara :D

I've gone back to being "Pip".......that's what my grandchildren call me.........guess there's no fast answer regarding this.......it's not urgent like memory leaks, cpu hogging.......etc......but it's annoying sort of..... ::)

I have noticed that the profile section likes to reset my profile to indicate I have AIM and YIM and to change the tag line at the bottom back to my user name from the truncated quote I prefer.
Yeah......that's what I mean.....you are normally just Gary here in the forum right?  And I am usually just Pip..

See the Nickname........and the text at the bottom of the post........that's what I mean when I said it reverts to some sort of program default and doesn't save previous entries.......

Pete--

I'm wondering why this is happening to you--when I dropped the 50 from my name I didn't have to re-enter anything else--even tho Roboform offerred.  I wonder what the difference is.

Sara ???
You entered Sara as your Nickname......is your user id still Sara50??   Also, Have you gone back into Profile as though you were going to modify something yet?  That's what I mean.......when you go back in all previously changed information goes back to some default from the program..........I think.....

what do you mean? user profiles in windows?
No....I mean chaning user profile in the Avant Forum.....when you click on Profile.......all the previously user entered information reverts to program default, i.e. Nickname becomes my first and last name........text that would be at bottom of posting becomes my first name, middle initial and last name........it would be good if the "last entered" information would be saved at each profile change and not go back to defaults requiring all the information to be re-entered.......Whew......that's a long statement for such a small problem......... :)

Changing Profile...

Whenever the user profile is accessed, it reverts back to a default status.   I would like to see "last entered" previous settings saved so that if the user would only like to change something minor,  they would not have to re-enter all the other items, such as Nickname......text.....etc.
